EXPERIENCE:
July 2003 – To date:
Supervisor/Manager for the Condition Monitoring Department Ras Lanuf Oil & Gas Company Libya, directly responsible to the Engineering Manager for the management of the condition monitoring strategy of a large oil and gas production facility.
As head of a team of 5 Condition Monitoring Specialists responsible for condition monitoring over 2000 rotating machinery systems.
Duties involve machinery, system and process performance monitoring using vibration, oil, Thermography and performance monitoring technologies., data analysis and interpretation, results interpretation and maintenance recommendations.
Other duties include troubleshooting in-depth vibration analysis, structural testing, repair and overhaul follow up, root cause analysis and participation in plant and equipment improvement programmes.
Responsible for the development and delivery of the site condition monitoring training programme for maintenance engineers, technicians and managers. Subjects covered include basic vibration analysis, performance monitoring, oil analysis, Thermography, data management and analysis
During the period have worked with other departments in development of the strategies for the successful achievement of plant machinery reliability and availability targets as directed by Maintenance policy and in line with all applicable industry standards, codes and practices.

Sept 2000 - June 2003:
Obtained MSc in Condition Monitoring University of Newcastle upon Tyne, researching sensor technology and the condition monitoring of rolling elements bearings (MPhil).

Nov. 1992 - Sept. 2000:
After an intensive two months training period with IRD (UK) Engineers, joined the Condition Monitoring Group. During this period gained extensive experience in the condition monitoring of rotating machinery, the production of technical reports on machine performance and condition and ways of improving equipment reliability.
The condition-monitoring program covers some (2200) rotating machines. The equipment is varied and includes Gas Turbines, steam turbine generators, air and gas compressors and General-purpose pumps.
The areas of use are the Refinery, Ethylene Plant, Polyethylene Plant, Utilities, Tank Farm and Harbour.
Group leader for in the 93, 95 &98 Refinery Turn-Around involved in the planning and management of rotary equipment and fan coolers overall.
During Polyethylene plant commission, supervised a group of five engineers in building the rotating machineries monitoring data base for, (classifying machines to categories upon operational requirements, size of machines and priority then programming all these data into the software etc)

Nov. 1988 - Nov. 1992:
Involved with mechanical maintenance group for LPG plant commissioning. Main tasks included the commissioning and maintenance of various mechanical equipments, direction and supervision of the rotating machinery technicians in the repair and maintenance of all types of rotating machinery

Jan. 1988 - Nov. 1988:
Joined Ras Lanuf Oil & Gas Processing Company as a Junior Engineer. Duties were the maintenance and repair of various types of pumps, heat exchangers, valves and associated equipment's. The work was carried out in the Refinery and Tank Farm Area.
