* Comparison of the Vapor Hydration Tests of hydroceramic waste forms and the Environmental Assessment (EA) benchmark glass to determine their chemical durability (leachability) in an unsaturated zone
* Optimization of gibbsite yield via conventional processing and microwave hydrothermal synthesis
* Microwave and conventional hydrothermal synthesis of layered-anionic (hydrotalcite) clay to be explored as slow-release nitrate fertilizers
* Solid-state synthesis of ZnO phosphors doped with different cations (Ce, Pr, Al, Cu, Mn, Tb, Li, Eu and Ga) at 900oC. Measurement of characteristic emission bands provides the data needed to identify potential candidate materials for low-voltage flat panel display devices.
* Characterization of the luminescence of ZnO powders and single crystal from room temperature to liquid nitrogen temperature
