DETAILED PROJECTS:
- AKPO Field Development Project FPSO Topsides. Design of the Topside modules of the permanently moored Floating, Production, Storage and Offloading unit at water depth of 1300m and Hull dimensions 300m by 60m.
Senior Structural Engineer. Responsible for the analysis and design of MP/HP gas compression module, of 2900 tonnes and 28m by 26m overall dimensions. The analyses include: Operating conditions, Hull damage condition, Blast, Lifting, Transportation, along with the revision and approval of vendor documents, checking and controlling the relevant drawings. Interfacing with the internal disciplines.

- Idd Shargi North Dome Development project. Pre-service and construction engineering for 4 platforms in 35m water depth including Jackets & Topsides.
Deputy lead structural engineer, liaising with client, marine warranty surveyors, construction yard and offshore installation department. Responsible for the revision, approval and re-performance of the pre-service analyses and the construction engineering endeavours, providing guidance for engineers and draftsmen. Following up with the construction yard.

- Preparation and revision of the structural department design procedures.
Senior structural engineer responsible ensuring adequacy, accuracy and compliance with the applicable design codes and standards. Senior structural engineer / Deputy lead engineer for DP4 platform package, liaising with client, marine warranty surveyors, construction yard and offshore installation department. Responsible for the revision, approval and performance of the in-service and pre-service analyses and the construction engineering endeavours. Provision of technical guidance to engineers and draftsmen. Following up with yard construction. Provision of technical assistance during offshore installation (Doha).

- S94 WHT Reinstatement Project, for a 23m water depth damaged jacket, utilizing the damaged jacket to support new installed topside together with a new installed jacket.
Senior structural engineer, responsible for the none-linear collapse analysis to calculate the strength of the damaged jacket. Liaising with the client and warranty surveyor for the approval of the analysis theory and results. The analyses theory was based on the results of the accident Time Domain Motion Analysis report, preformed by the Noble Denton Ref. B.5462/NDA/VL Sept. 2000, and the survey of the deformed jacket configuration. The analyses considered application of none-linear forces with variable magnitude and direction to achieve the same deformed shape of the existing jacket and to compute the corresponding stresses which will be added to the stresses arising from the environmental loads.

- Offshore Khuff Gas development Project for Abu Al Bukoosh Field.
Structural engineer responsible for the structural modification of the existing GLP and AKC topsides. Liaising with construction yard and internal disciplines.

- Structural modification, design and upgrade of HLS-2000 Crane Vessel.
Lead structural engineer, liaising with offshore marine warranty surveyors, construction yard and structural design and drafting teams. Responsible for the analyses and design of the boom rest support, boom installation, A-frame installation, winches platforms, structural integrity verification of barges during crane capacity test. Revision and approval of engineering deliverables and construction drawings.

- Belayim field development, modification and Installation of facilities and risers on 12 existing platforms.
Project technical co-ordinator and Structural engineer, interfacing between client and Tecnomare branches and disciplines, responsible for the structural integrity verification of the existing platforms under the new imposed loads and operating conditions including: inplace, seismic and fatigue analyses, determination of piles capacities, vortex induced vibration, wave slamming and design of clamps. Liaising with internal disciplines, client and marine warranty surveyors.

- Ashrafi offshore field development project, installation of water injection plant on existing 47m MPA platform.
Project technical co-ordinator and Structural engineer. Liaising with the client, the machinery suppliers, the installation & fabrication contractor and Tecnomare internal disciplines. Carried out complete analyses and detailed design of the new topside extension and the jacket structural modification including: inplace, seismic, dynamic modal analyses, fatigue life check, design of the vibrating equipment supports and calculation of piles capacities. Carried out relevant offshore site visits and clarification meetings with client and warranty surveyors.

- Ashrafi offshore field feasibility study for topside extension to accommodate the installation of a new water injection plant on the existing 47m MPA platform.
Structural engineer, responsible for the preliminary design of the new topside extension, determination of pile capacity, preparation of MTO, conducting technical meetings with the client to present the proposed alternatives.

Carried out project endeavours including the preparation of tender documents, bid evaluation, contractor selection, activities breakdown definition, planning and scheduling. Carried out the commissioning, execution and supervision of the sub-sea inspection campaign. Carried out technical activities including the preparation of the sub-sea pipeline inspection specification, the revision and evaluation of inspection reports and issuance of the final technical recommendations.

- SETTY Jack-up (converted into production unit) sub-sea inspection project, inspection of leg cracks and the update of as-built conditions. The project extended to include a feasibility study for the relocation of the exhaust flare.
Structural engineer. Carried out technical activities including the commissioning and supervision of the inspection campaigns using the MPI and Eddy currents techniques, evaluation and comparison of the inspectors¡¦ reports and issuance of the final technical recommendations. Study of the relocation of the flare including the weight calculations and the structural integrity verification of the new proposed location. In addition to the structural scope, I was involved in some technical co-ordination activities with the client, the inspection contractor and Tecnomare Venice.
(Tecnomare - Cairo, performed for Geisum Oil Company & Egyptian Drilling Company EDC, from October 97 to March 98)
- North Sea Block 47/8a Shearwater Offshore Field Development project, in-service analyses and design of 92m 2500 tonnes jacket.
Structural engineer. Carried out engineering analyses including inplace, dynamic, seismic and on-bottom stability analyses. Appurtenances design calculations for J-tube, risers and clamps including relevant checks for vortex induced vibrations and wave slam. Design of docking guide and mudmat. The project included technical meetings at SLP construction yard in Aberdeen.

- Re-analysis of 32m water depth platforms MWP3 & SWT113.
Structural engineer. Carried out in-service and pre-service analyses including: inplace, modal dynamic, seismic, fatigue life check, pile driveability and single pile analysis. Carried out design calculations for mudmats and clamps. Analyses performed with Tecnomare in-house developed software for modelling and calculation of environmental loads then using MCS Nastran for the final stresses calculations.
