Process Technician Fluid Catalytic Cracking Unit
Duties include; Safe operation of all slide valves, wet gas compressor, fresh and spent catalyst addition and withdraw, safe operation of air compressors to regenerator portion of Cat Cracker, safe operation of air compressors to fluffing area of Cat Cracker's Cat Cooler. Also responsible for the gas treating chemical section of refinery (MEA) reclamation and insurance of flows to fuel gas treating section, Alky feed scrubber, and clean steady flow of Amine to Reformers Sat Gas unit. All cooling water tower operations.
Also sample collection and analytical tests to insure quality Cat gas, propane, butane, slurry, heavy cycle oil, and light cycle oil. Much more is associated with my present duties, from properly maintaining both "foul water" strippers, ensuring the wet gas compressor is running smoothly which is a direct effect on how efficiently we keep our absorbers, strippers, debutanizers, and splitter / Alky feed section on specification and in a "steady-state" however these are the highlights.

Process Technician Poly Urethane application to deep sea pipeline construction joints
Duties included extensive travel to worldwide locations aboard pipe lay barges and ships. I was responsible for the processing of the Urethane then application of at the welded joint before pipeline was dropped to sea bottom, mostly tying in offshore platforms.
July 2000 to March 2001 BOC Gases Group Helium Trans-fill Team
Houston, Texas
Process Technician Transferred liquid helium via compressor to a gas state for further disbursement
Duties included receiving tanker trucks from Otis Kansas to the Houston facility and compressing to fill Dewar's for transport to hospitals and MRI equipment. Also in charge of tracking shipments of helium to various customers, and all DOT inspections on BOC tanker trucks. Also sampling and analytical testing to insure helium was on specification.
October 1996 to July 2000 CCR Technologies Gas Treating Chemical Reclamation Services

Unit Supervisor Mobile Vacuum Distillation Unit
Duties included, extensive travel to refineries, gas plants, and offshore platforms worldwide with a crew of 5 Process Technicians to reclaim a variety of spent / degraded gas treating chemicals. To include all forms of Glycols, Amines, Methanol, and patented gas treating chemicals such as Flexsorb, Sulfinol, DIPA, Ucarsol etc.
My responsibilities included safe transportation, set up, tie in, and operation of our mobile vacuum distillation unit. Customer interaction was a major factor in being the Supervisor, generating reports showing progress in the removal of impurities mostly Heat Stable Salts. Also responsible for a waste management program, and head of safety steering committee.
August 1993 to October 1996 Odfjell Tankers ( USA ) Baytank Terminal
Seabrook, Texas
Process Technician
Duties included, many facets involved with a marine terminal, load and unload chemical cargo and fuel oil to ships, barges, tank trucks, rail cars. Gauging of storage tanks, catching and analyzing product samples.
US Coast Guard certified to perform "Dock-man" duties. Also was lead conductor for railroad operations within the terminal with a 500 railcar capacity switch yard. I worked with many chemicals in this job, everything from Acrylonitrile to Styrene Monomer and most every hazardous chemical in between, all with an outstanding safety record. Also part of the ISO certification team, and safety steering committee.
July 1990 to August 1993 Crown Central Petroleum Refinery

Process Technician Hydro-Fluoric Acid Alkylation Unit
Duties included, performing all outside details as a Jr. Still man. Switching Olefin feed driers, all cooling tower maintenance, and analytical strength tests of H.F. Acid, catching all Alky samples to include Alkylate, Butane, Iso-Butane, and Propane. I was a team member in bringing the new Defluorinater on-line, which drastically minimized residual fluorides in the Propane. Completely qualified in bringing unit up or down in both normal and upset conditions. Many other job duties were included such as draining KOH treaters for both Butane and Propane, keeping Coalescers free of water, bringing fresh HF acid into unit on a periodic basis, and keeping flare knock-out neutralization drum at a good caustic pH.

Indirect Fire Specialist ( Mortars ) Airborne Infantryman
Duties included, being trained as an Airborne Infantryman specializing in Mortars ( indirect fire ).
I served both stateside and overseas. Honorably discharged as an E-4 ( Specialist )
Special schools in the Army included: Airborne, Sniper school, Pathfinder school, and specialized "gunner" proficiency school for the mortar system. Also Combat Medic certified. Received Drivers badge for driving 50,000 miles accident free while stationed in S. Korea.
