SYNOPSIS

I have experience of both design and fabrication offices where I have been involved in coordinating tasks, preparing and developing designs as well as the production & checking of structural drawings for offshore oil & gas and shipbuilding projects such as jackets, topsides (including integrated decks, production, compression, process utility modules, and accommodation modules), floating production units, subsea manifolds, drill ship conversions, FPSO conversions, tanker mooring systems, naval refits and onshore LNG plants.
I have also gained experience on piping systems for offshore topsides, mainly the production and checking of piping general arrangements & isometrics for various systems
On site activities have included dealing with site queries in a liaison capacity, punch lists and site surveying existing steel.
Countries I have experience of working in are United Kingdom, Norway, Portugal, The Netherlands, France, Belgium and Azerbaijan.
Whilst in Azerbaijan I was involved in the training & development of the local draughtsmen and developing the company's Autocad system.

Senior Structural Designer (contract) – Working on the Statoil, Snohvit LNG-LPG Hammerfest Terminal project. Duties included developing the design and producing structural drawings for pipe racks and access platforms. Cad system used Microstation J with Structural Triforma.

Senior Structural Designer (contract) – Working on the BP Clair installation project. Duties included developing the design, producing and checking drawings for grillages, seafastenings, rigging and installation. Cad system used AutoCAD 2002.

July 2003 – Oct 2003 Burntisland Fabrication, Fife, Scotland
Senior Structural Designer (contract) – Working on the BP Clair Compression Module project. Main responsibilities were updating the PDMS model to reflect the changes made during the fabrication of the module. Cad system used PDMS 11.4

Senior Structural Designer (contract) – Working on the Shah Deniz Jack-up platform. Duties included developing the design for the foundations of the legs. Cad system used Microstation J.

Senior Structural Draughtsman (contract) – Working on the AIOC Central & West Azeri PDQ platforms. Duties included implementing new drawing office systems and ideas to help improve productivity in the office and in the workshops, producing and checking fabrication drawings for primary, secondary & outfitting steelwork, training local draughtsman. Cad system used AutoCAD 2002 with Mechanical Desktop V6. Time was also spent developing and customising Autocad to suit the company's needs.

Site Engineer (contract) – Producing onsite sketches, construction and as built layout drawings, on AutoCAD 2000 cad system, for the Global Switch Telecommunications Facility in Amsterdam. Duties also included handling all the certification and testing documents.

Structural Draughtsman (contract) – Producing fabrication and machining steelwork drawings for components which go to make up electrical generators & motors e.g. baseframes, skids, shafts, castings etc, on Microstation SE.

June 99 – April 2000 Kvaerner Oil & Gas, Methil, Fife, Scotland.
Structural Draughtsman (contract) - Working on the Snorre B FPU for Saga Petroleum. Duties included coordinating a team of draughtsmen, producing & checking structural drawings for primary, secondary and outfitting steelwork on Autocad Release 14. Time was also spent working within the piping department producing and checking piping general arrangements and isometrics.

Structural Designer (contract) - Working on the Asgard B FPU for Statoil, producing structural design drawings for outfitting steelwork on Microstation SE.

Structural Designer (contract) - Working on the Troll C FPU for Hydro, developing and producing structural design drawings for outfitting steelwork on Microstation SE with PDS Frameworks 3.1.

Structural Designer (contract) - Working on the conversion of a tanker to a drill ship for Falcon Drilling. Duties involved producing drawings for main steel and outfitting steel and surveying. Drawings were produced on AutoCAD Release 14.
