DISSERTATION TOPIC:
"2D Seismic Forward Modelling" - The forward modeling algorithm based on 2D acoustic equation was already developed on similar topic by one of my senior Subash Chandra, 2002 & this algorithm is updated for eliminating the edge reflections through absorbing edge boundary conditions by Santram, 2003 and by Sachin Kumar, 2004 using Seismic Unix in their respective dissertation work. The updated algorithm is tested for various acoustic models viz., half space. 3-layered model, 5-layered model, dipping bed, faulted bed with the assumed velocity & density distribution.
