Description:
* The work under this contract includes survey, detailed engineering, procurement, installation and commissioning of the topsides facilities to the multi-products berth for the export of crude oil, Naphtha, NGL C5+, etc at Mesaieed Industrial City in Qatar.
* Replacement of existing SCADA control system with new DCS control system in the new Terminal Control Building
* Replacement of existing PCS system with new PLC system for the crude oil tank farm and ARAB-D Condensate tank farm including interface with the existing tank gauging and pumps vibration monitoring systems.
* A new ESD system and F&G system including all field F&G sensors and transmitters and interface them with the master DCS system
* Supply of two new metering system and upgrading the existing five metering system along with the new metering panel & PLC system.
* Installation, Testing & Commissioning of new CCTV system, PA/GA system, Fire Monitoring & Fire Foam System.
* Installation, Testing & Commissioning of Five Loading Arms for Crude Oil and NGL and associated control systems in the new Local Control building.
My responsibilities:
* Deputed as Section Leader of the Instrumentation and Control Division
* Responsible for survey, detailed engineering, procurement, installation, testing and commissioning of complete instrumentation and control system in the project.
* Study and evaluate the contract specifications and drawings, selection of suitable PLC/DCS system, field instruments and all other materials, process the Qatar Petroleum's approval, and procurement of the same
* Carrying out on-site supervision for the installation of impulse tubing, calibration, testing, installation and commissioning of all field instruments, F&G sensors and transmitters, CCTV system, Telephone System, ESD system, communication equipment, Public Address / General Alarm system, etc.
* Preparing P&ID¡¦s, Instrument schedule, cable schedule, cable routing, Instrument Loop Diagram, Control Schematics, Wiring Diagram, Input/Output allocation table, control philosophy of the system based on the process requirement, Flow chart, Workstation mimic displays development, and Ladder Logic diagram development, etc.

* Upgrading the R.O. units and its Support Facilities, which consist of construction of three complete new R.O. units and upgrading the existing four units
* Constructing two new pretreatment plants and upgrading two existing pretreatment plants

Description:.
* Project was undertaken to do modifications on Industrial Waste Water Treatment Plant, which consist of construction of four new multimedia territory filters, a PLC system (Quantum series from MODICON) to control the automatic backwashing system for these new filters as well as existing eight filters, thereby increasing the capacity of two pump stations including the complete modifications on power and control system and upgrading the chlorination system
My responsibilities:
* Preparing P&I diagrams and detailing out various layouts and installations
* Studying and evaluating the contract specifications and drawings, selection of suitable PLC system, field instruments and all other materials, process the Royal Commission approval, and procurement of the same
* On-site supervision for the installation of impulse tubing, calibration, testing, installation and commissioning of all field instruments, modifications to existing power supply panels, preparing marshalling cabinet wiring table
* Preparation of Input/Output allocation table for PLC, control philosophy, Flow chart, Workstation mimic displays development and Ladder Logic diagram development
* Inspection of the materials received on the site from the suppliers, to carry out off-site inspections and co-ordination among civil, electrical and mechanical engineers

Project: Seawater Cooling System Expansion Project (Phase - 2)
Duration: April 1999 - June 2000 & July. 2002 - ongoing
Description:
* It is the World biggest Seawater Cooling System Expansion Project
* The expansion consists of fourteen new Seawater Pumps from Ebara Japan (13.5m3/sec. capacity fitted with Mitsubishi synchronous motor 1900 kW, 4.16kv) controlled by a Local Control Panel dedicated to each pump, seven new Drum screens (Bracket & Greene, UK) controlled locally by a Allen-Bradley PLC system, Four chlorine production trains & their associated pumping station from Mitsubishi, controlled locally by ABB AC-160 & AC-70 PLC system and Electrical substation (Westinghouse) for all the Phase-II equipment controlled locally by a Modicon PLC provided with two additional internal network of GE-Multilin Relays network (RS-232/485) and Cutler-Hammer WPONI, IPONI devices connected through a Gateway to BM-85 Multiplexer
* All the Local Control Panels and PLC systems are connected to a centralized DCS System (ABB AC-450 Master System) through remote I/O cabinet, Modbus Communication, Advant Fieldbus communication and Modbus Communication.
* Apart from the above, there are many standalone equipment & their controls including 50 Ton Gantry Crane controlled by Siemens PLC, Trash Rack & Workshop Cranes, controlled by Siemens PLC and Cathodic Protection System controlled & monitored by Cylon Controls CU & RMU system
My responsibilities:
* Solely responsible for the entire Instrumentation and Control section
* Studying and evaluating the contract drawings and preparing the shop drawings for the installation of instrumentation and control related items
* Design and develop the operating philosophy of various control system and engineering the interface with the DCS
* Coordinating with various PLC vendors such as Allen Bradley, Modicon, Siemens and ABB to have a complete workable control system
