Marathon Oil Company - Houston, Texas

6/98 - present Drilling Engineer - Current assignment is a staff drilling engineer in Malabo, Equatorial Guinea for operations in the offshore blocks of the Gulf of Guinea. These wells approach extended reach of 9,000 feet, deviations of 45 degrees, 350o F BHT, and mud weights of 17 ppg. Past staff drilling engineer assignments include onshore and offshore operations in Houston, Texas, and internationally in Gabon, Tunisia, and Equatorial Guinea. Responsible for preparing cost estimates and well programs for project approval. Well programs included casing and cement designs, mud weight curves, drilling fluid selection, and directional plans. Directed onsite drilling supervisors and external service contractors. Generated activity schedules in conjunction with field personnel and tracked estimated field expenditures compared to final invoices. Prepared post-well analysis and final well reports as well as year-end score carding and metrics evaluation.

Drilling Supervisor - Supervised operations on land rigs, hydraulic workover units, pulling units, jackup rigs, semi-submersibles, drillships and platform rigs. Onshore locations include Oklahoma, New Mexico, and Tunisia, and offshore locations include Gabon, Equatorial Guinea, and Scotland. Sites worked include remote (frontier) areas, deep-water blocks, and harsh environments. Responsible for directing wellsite activities to ensure work is done efficiently and safely in accordance with well programs, established company practices and procedures, and applicable laws and regulations. Coordinated arrival of equipment, personnel, and services to ensure continuous operations and minimize downtime. Provided a leadership role in the implementation and monitoring of HES standards and initiatives.

Production/Completion Engineer - Past staff engineering assignments include Gabon and Equatorial Guinea. Responsible for daily production of oil, designing and implementing workover operations, optimizing production rates, forecasting and budgeting. Developed marketing strategy for high mercaptan crude oil. Responsible for providing preliminary scoping and design for proposed facility construction and working with the Facilities team to finalize designs. Evaluated completion design concepts. Procured and prepared downhole equipment for installation.
