March 2005 – Present Ackerman & Associates President

Primarily involved consulting for Oil companies either working in or that want to get a position in the Middle East.

January 2002 – March 2005 Oman Hunt Oil Co. Resident General Manager

Started the operation for Hunt Oil Co. from the ground up. Went from one company to three, becoming the second biggest contract EPSA holder in Oman. Drilling 3 onshore wells and acquired over 2000 Kms of marine seismic. Over saw the operation from startup until completion of assignment. This included setting up office, hiring staff, dealing with different government entities, auditors and the overall running of a smooth operation.

May 2000 – September 2001 Resident General Manager

General Manager for Adair Yemen Exploration, Ltd. stationed in Sana'a, Republic of Yemen. Responsible for government and partner liaison, PSA compliance, and oversight of all in country operations during the exploration phase, including 3-D seismic and drilling.

1995-2000 ACKERMAN & ASSOCIATES INC. President

Supervised and managed projects for major and independent oil companies throughout the world. Counties worked in were Guyana, Senegal, Philippines, Ecuador, Vietnam and Azerbaijan. Projects varied from supervision of 3-D seismic in the jungles of Ecuador to serving as resident manager for Shell Oil in Senegal during drilling operations.

1990-1995 HUNT OIL COMPANY VP & General Manager

As resident general manager in Guyana, setup office, supervised operations of jungle seismic acquisition and assisted in exploration drilling operations. Obtained necessary permits and government approvals to move equipment through Brazil and Venezuela. After closing the Guyana office, assisted on site with the startup of Yemen Hunt Oil's first 3D seismic survey in Marib-Block 18.
During a tour as the resident general manager during the exploration operations in Ethiopia and Niger (with offices in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia), served as liaison to the Niger government, obtained all necessary documents, permits and approvals to conduct an airborne gravity and magnetic survey in Hunt's Block in Niger. Supervised the initial operations for seismic survey and drilling in Ethiopia.

1982-1990 ACKERMAN & ASSOCIATES INC. President

Provided consulting services to oil companies as well as oil industry service companies. Clients included Boeing, Gearhart, Geosource and Sea Beam Industries.

1981-1982 TOMLINSON GEOPHYSICAL INC. President

Managed startup of company's U. S. based land seismic geophysical acquisition subsidiary, eventually extending this successful market model to the offshore Gulf of Mexico.

1966-1981 SHELL OIL COMPANY Operations Geophysicist
Career progressed from geophysical trainee to Supervisor of foreign seismic operations.
