I hold B. Eng. degree in Chemical Engineering with 7yrs continuous experience in Mud Engineering. Trained as a drilling fluids engineer with bakerhughes Drilling fluid technology school in houston,texas. I have worked on land, swamp (barge), offshore (jackups & deep water jobs on semi-submersible rigs). I have experience in water base, Oil base & Synthetic base mud systems, work-over & completion fluids.
I have worked on directional & geothermal wells & in mud plants, Barite & Bentonite grinding plants, logistics, technical support, quality control departments, etc. My job also includes ensuring well plans & programmes as related to the Fluids and Waste management are developed and implemented in the most efficient, safe, environmentally friendly and cost effective manner in line with legislative requirements.

(A) Baker Hughes Nigeria Limited (Drilling Fluids), Plot 268 Trans Amadi Industrial layout,
P. M. B. 5241, Port Harcourt, Nigeria.
Drilling Fluids Engineer (Mud Engineer) (1999 - Date); 7 years
- Mud Engineer on land, swamp (barge rigs) and off-shore rigs (Jack-ups and Semi-subs).
- Currently working on a Bulford Dolphin Drilling Semi-Submersible Rig, drilling for Peak/Equator Exploration, in Nigeria.
Has experience in:
(a) Water base mud systems:- KCl Polymer, Aquadrill (KCL/PHPA/Glycol), KCL-PHPA system, HTHP Polymer System, Lignosulphonate system, etc.
Drill-in Fluids like Perflow DIF and XCD/CaCO3 based system, etc.
(b) Inverts like Low toxic Oil Base Mud (Carbodrill Systems) and Pseudo Oil Base Mud systems - (Synthetic mud system – Isoteq & Parateq base fluids).
Vastly experienced in various oil Based Mud Systems; Invert oil Mud, low Toxic Oil Mud, Pseudo Oil Mud. Have run these systems with strict environmental rules such as 5% oil on cuttings discharge using cuttings dryer.Zero discharge with the use of cuttings blower to Iso-tanks and skips along with the use of vacuum cleaners.
(c) Workover and completion fluids involving the use of heavy or light weight brine, sized salt systems, sized Calcium carbonate systems etc and associated different well bore clean up pills & chemicals.
(d) Worked in the Mud plant and Barite/Bentonite Grinding plant at Onne – Port Harcourt, Nigeria.
(e) Quality Control operations for drilling and workover fluid.
(f) Worked in the preparation of mud programs & preparation of bids for exploration, development &
work-over wells.
(g) Logistic department:-
(a) Provided technical and logistic support to the rigs and field engineers by tracking & maintaining drilling fluid, chemicals, equipment supplies/backloads etc, and liaising with the clients in these regards.
(b) Provided technical support to the liquid mud plant and grinding plant.
(c) Involved in chemical inventory utilization, stocking, replenishment, projections, estimations, local sourcing and procurements.
