OBJECTIVE
Secure long term position as liaison, overseas office manager, logistics manager, coordinator, corporate representative for a national /international corporation at the international level. Open for overseas assignment and/or relocation. Strong preference for the North African sector.
SUMMARY
Over twenty years of experience spanning: operations, design, management, consulting & teaching. Fluent in several foreign languages (Arabic, Italian, Greek, and Spanish), have multicultural exposure, and able to overcome technical and interpersonal barriers. Profound understanding of North African customs, religion, dialects, and geopolitical atmosphere, augment me, with the necessary tools to excel in such environments. Excellent leadership and managerial skills, combined with strong PC literacy.
EXPERIENCE
2001 - Present. Facilities Engineer, UTMDACC (Houston). Heavy engineering involvement with this internationally recognized institution compassing over 43 structures at 6 million ft/sq., a $ 32 million energy budget, and over $ one billion operating budget. Assignments revolved around new construction, MEP renovations, application of national standards such as: (ASME, NFPA, NEC,
ASHRAE, JCHAO) to engineering design reviews, HVAC designs, energy procurement strategies, contractors bids, as well as technical support to mission critical issues. Extensive exposure to large BAS / process control networks, participated in value engineering, budgeting, and mission steering committees. Interfaced with clients, local, and national regulating authorities.
1991 - 2001 Consulting Engineer, Brown Mechanical Services (Houston). Activities included sizing, design, and commissioning HVAC systems (30 to 1000 plus tons). Interfaced with regulating authorities, contractors, and resolved technical problems associated with equipment installation and operations.
1985 - 1991 Facility Manager, TMCHLCA (Houston). Managed daily operations of this multimillion dollar facility. Responsible for maintenance, housekeeping, and safety departments for this large hospital laundry. Extensive exposure to heavy process equipment, (boilers, heat exchangers, process air, chemical storage and distribution systems, sterilizers, packaging, & high voltage circuits). Regulatory compliance with national standards (ASHA, JCAHO, ASME, NFPA, NEC, UMC, and ASHRAE). Instrumental in leading the plant to number one among the 60 plants managed at that time by United HealthServ Inc., and recipient of the 1986 Texas Energy Innovation Award.
