ACHIEVEMENTS

When based in the Middle East, I managed two engineering departments on a £300 million EPC gas and condensate project. In a multi-cultural and language setting, my task was to manage and coach a team of relatively inexperienced, foreign engineers and draftsmen, to finalise the detailed design within a very tight schedule and budget.

When working on behalf of a global petroleum company, under severe time constraints I led a small team to successfully commission and achieve first gas on a satellite/feeder platform earlier than scheduled. That enabled the on-time final commission and start up the rest of the $1 billion development

Working directly for the KBR Vice President – Global Engineering and Project Management, I developed and implemented a variety of strategies for large scale (>$500m) oil and gas global projects. I challenged traditional EPC practices and significantly cut design costs (estimated at 10%).

Cost savings of 20% were identified for a utility company's engineering services operations when I re-designed the organisation's delivery structure (excess of 300 people) and business processes to minimise cost and maximise their asset reliability. Prior to re-organisation, the engineering services business had been unable to identify existing organisational deficiencies, utilise proven industry solutions or to quantify the cost savings.

When performing a cost reduction study for a new offshore development for a Major Oil Company, I identified direct savings to the project in excess of 30% of the original budget estimate. Combining my technical knowledge and determination I challenged and influenced the client representatives and suppliers to revisit their traditional practices and consider alternative solutions.

I am currently designing a Maintenance Management System for a Major Oil company in a region of the former Soviet Union. I lead a team of consultants in a multi-cultural and language environment. This requires dedication, energy and resourcefulness to motivate and influence the client team members to successfully deliver a solution to align with the first oil requirements of the new facilities.

The objective to improve the whole life cycle management of all land environment equipment valued at £6bn, covering an engineering inventory of more than 400,000 line items in geographically disparate environments

Job Responsibilities: I was the team leader responsible for the design and delivery of process improvement within the subject areas of configuration management, modification and equipment acquisition. This included assessing existing processes and practices, evaluating an asset management solution against the user requirements and developing to-be processes within these functional areas. I was also responsible for developing within 2 months, the benefit case for the organisation. This focused around maximising asset reliability, availability and significantly reducing the whole life cost of asset ownership.

 Seconded to BHP with joint responsibility for the offshore commissioning of three satellite platforms.
