I have assumed overall responsibility for technical and administrative tasks of the electrical discipline of Petrochemical projects; I have performed planning, scheduling and supervision of engineering and design deliverables; I have conducted forecasting of staffing requirements; I have monitored schedule and budget milestones; I have issued change orders and/or trend notices when appropriate; I have supervised, approved and produced key one line and area classification drawings; I have produced electrical design basis specifications; I have issued requisition packages for major electrical equipment such as power cables, switchgear, motor control centers and transformers; and I have directed power systems studies including relaying, load flow, voltage drop, and fault studies. I also was responsible by the coordination of construction and commissioning and testing of electrical system and devices as in factory as well in field. I also gave advising to operators in case of failures and malfunctioning of the electrical system.

My administrative duties included responsibility for managing budget of over $1 million and a staff of 25 full-time employees as well as budget preparation and justifications for improvements or modifications of the electrical system. As leader engineer of the Power and Electrical Protection System, I was also responsible for researching and correcting the causes of unusual events and failures in the Power and Relaying system.

I was responsible for preparing plans and justifications for new facilities, solving complex interconnection problems; evaluating and designing interconnection rates; studying the effect of adding, deleting or replacing facilities. I was responsible also for preparation of feasibility cost studies and investment budget plan; load and market forecasting and developing plans and justifications for new facilities.

Project Engineer Of High And Medium Voltage Substations, C.A. LA ELECTRICIDAD DE CARACAS. I have performed substation engineering including detailed bus bar calculations for switchyard, design and grounding grid calculations according to IEEE 80. I was responsible also for writing equipment specifications for switchgear, circuit breakers, disconnect switches, post insulators, revenue meters, relay panels, surge arresters, power transformers, DC power supplies and bulk material. I have assembled also purchase requisitions packages for major electrical equipment and bulk material, and performed bid evaluations for the procurement group.
