Background: A two-barrier policy is a must for producing, shut-in wells and well works preparation at offshore Java platform. Implementing this policy, all wellhead valves are to be tested and repaired in order to fulfill dual barrier status.
Evaluated: After being evaluated for 1.5 years, repaired is not effective due to the most of the offshore Java well likely be abandoned is less than 5 years due to the depletion of the reservoir and many of gate valve was washed out.
Project: Gate Valve Replacement was projected to be on schedule. Considered that the cost of new model gate valve is less than the cost of repairing previous model gate valve.
