Responsibilities and Job involved:
1) Over 20 years of experience in the field of Protective Coating / Painting / Hot and Cold Cryogenic Insulation / Refractory lining and Fire-proofing for Oil and Gas Industries, Refineries, Thermal Power plants.
2) Review of Project specific QA / ITP / System Procedure, Technical evaluation and advising and assisting contractor.
3) Witness review; approve PQT for major projects and contractor progress monitoring.
4) Internal Audit work. 5) Quality related activities reporting on Daily, Weekly and Monthly basis. 6) Issuing site Memo and NCR in case of discrepancy. 7) Conducting Tool Box talk for the coating/painting activity.
8) Explaining the Hazard involved and the control measure to be taken.
9) Maintaining History card for the painting equipment and arranging maintenance schedule. 10) Keeping track on the calibration of the test instrument and equipments. 11) Inspection of pre blast cleaning works.
12) On site inspection of abrasive blast cleaning, Surface profile measuring and comparing with standards as per specification requirement.
13) Recording climatic condition (relative humidity, dew point, and substrate temperature.
14) Testing of blast cleaned surfaces for the presence of various soluble salts and also quantitative measurement of salt densities on the surface by various methods (Bresle, SCM 400, etc)
15) Control of paint film by measuring wet film thickness using comb gauge. 16) Measurement of Dry film on Ferrous and Non-ferrous substrate by using electro magnetic and eddy current gauges respectively as per referenced standards ( SSPC -PA- 2, )
17) Inspection of Zinc silicate primer cure (MEK Rubbing test)
18) Testing of chloride content in abrasive (Garnet)
19) Performing tests for adhesion by pull of tape and Dolly tester.
20) Inspection of holidays of tank internal coatings, buried coated pipe lines, wrapped pipes, etc
21) Inspection of Paint storage condition. 22) Preparation of coating failure analysis reports for new and old coatings. 23) Preparing Daily Painting report.
24) Training the crew on Quality and Safety aspects involved in the painting / coating and Insulation activities. Reviewing Contractor Method statement, ITP, issuing comments and approving
25) Allocating work and monitoring painting / coating and Insulation activities. Insulation and Refractory material receipt inspection, On – site process control and Inspection for the Insulation and Refractory work in various stages of installation. Inspecting in-process QA/QC requirements.
26) Interfacing with all levels of the management. 27) Problem solving and investigation of failure. 28) Managing team of Sub-Contractor and multinational work force.
