EXPERIENCE:
1) Jan 2007 till Date: AIBEL UK,on FPSO,Berge Helene at Mauritania, West Africa.
Job Description: The FPSO has two modules,one for water injection, and other for gas injection.The machineries include high pressure water injection pumps(FRAMO),fuel gas compressors(TORMONT),and reciprocating gas compressors gas compressors (GE-GEMINI),and other process related pumps(SULZER) etc.The job includes preventive and breakdown maintenance of static and rotary equipments,condition monitoring, vibration checks and alignment checks with laser device.The reporting is done through
AMOS CMMS system.
2) July 2004 till Jan 2006: Geo Services, Qatar in Halul Island, Offshore as Mechanical Supervisor.
Job Description: As I was associated with TOTAL project in Al- Khaleej Field, the job involved preventive and breakdown maintenance of all equipment in the wellheads,unmanned platforms as well as on-shore gas processing plant.
Training of Qatari nationals on theory and hands on maintenance of all rotating equipment utilities and safety equipment. Duties also include ensuring hat all equipment is available to safely meet production targets and other performance standards.Ensuring the mechanical maintenance of equipment, plant and systems is carried out in a safe and effective manner.Assisting
Maintenance Supervisor to identify priorities to plan maintenance and shutdown activities.It also involved reporting the field activities in
DATASTREAM CMMS system.
3) Nov' 2002 till June 2004: Qatar Petroleum, Qatar in Halul Island, Offshore.
EQUIPMENT WORKED: The job description is the same as mentioned above.
4) October '01 to Nov '2002: ABB Offshore Systems,on FPSO,Sendje Ceiba at Equatorial Guinea, West Africa.
EQUIPMENT WORKED: : The FPSO had two process modules and one water injection module, consisting of pumps, heat exchangers, well equalising pumps, Nitrogen generating compressors, etc. The water injection module mainly consist of filtration systems, sulphate reduction system, the de-aeration and pumping system with Gas Turbine ( Alstom,Tornado make) and Fuel Gas package.
The job involved preventive and breakdown maintenance of all the associated machineries for the operation of the plant.

5) Dec. '92 to Oct '2001: Approx. 9 years experience with AL- FURAT PETROLEUM COMPANY,a
SHELL managed company at Syria as Senior Mechanical Technician.

Maintenance Engineer at their Mahul,Mumbai works.
EQUIPMENT WORKED: : Boilers, Heat Exchangers, Centrifugal pumps, Rotary filters, Expellers,
Expanders, Reactors, Dryers, Gear boxes, Horizontal and Vertical vibrators.
8) Nov. '86 to July '87:: Approx. 9 months with RADIANT FIRE PROTECTION ENGINEERS,
Mumbai as a Site Engineer.
EQUIPMENT WORKED & NATURE OF JOB: The company was engaged in the erection, installation & commissioning of fire hydrants & pipelines of various chemical plants. The job involved supervision in pipe laying, welding & erection, It also required coordination with clients & contractors for smooth execution of work.
JOBS PERFORMED ON EQUIPMENT:
Pumps:
* Checking the condition of shaft, bearings, impellers, sleeves etc.
* Checking the clearances of wear rings and neckbushes, end play and adjusting float in multistage pumps.
* Alignment with prime mover using one and two dial gauges and latest OPTALIGN and ROTALIGN method.
* Arranging spare parts for the overhaul and maintenance of the pumps.
* Worked on well head BEAM pumps like AMERICAN & LUFKIN, adjusting counter weights, its stroke, replacing saddle, equalizer or Pitman Arms bearings.
* Worked on all types of seals and Mechanical seals ( John Crane & Borg Warner ) like single and double seals, spilt type, and double tandem seals.
Compressors: (Air and Gas)
* Checking the condition of valves, piston rings, piston, piston rods, big end bearings, main bearings etc.
* Maintaining required clearances like piston ring gaps, top and bottom clearances etc.
* Overhauling of compressors both rotary and reciprocating, using air and gas.
* Preventive maintenance and trouble-shooting of the compressors and routine maintenance which includes monthly, half-yearly and yearly maintenance.
Engines:
* Worked on compete overhaul and trouble shooting of Diesel and Gas Engines.
* Testing the above in idle and load conditions.
* Overhaul includes changing of spark plugs, leads, injectors, checking clearances of piston rings, gudgeon pin, bearings, lapping of valve faces, adjusting valve clearances, setting magneto timings etc.
OTHER EQUIPMENT:
* Handled independently mechanical jobs on steam turbines.
* Worked on Ruston, Alstom and Caterpillar turbines ( Makes SOLAR-Saturn,Mars,Taurus).
* Preventive maintenance of the above types of turbines like oil and air filter change, replacing gas fuel regulator etc.
* Removal and installation of the unit from the package.
* Alignment of the same with the gear box and Generator.
* Worked on static equipment like vessels, columns, furnaces, heat exchangers, cooling towers, etc., during normal operations and shutdown.
* Worked independently on all kinds of hydraulic and pneumatic controls and systems.
In brief, I have worked on various kinds of mechanical equipment employed in various oil fields like Central production facility, Gathering stations, water injection stations, beam pumps, water lift, water treatment, LPG extraction plants, crude stabilization units, gas sweetening and ethane propane recovery units, transformer oil manufacturing units, offshore manned and unmanned platforms etc. The job required supervision, coordination and hands on job involvement with subordinate crew technicians. It involved liaison with managers and section heads, and detailing of the job undertaken. It also involved making of job requests, work orders, work permits arranging spares and reporting in CMMS system.
