This Power Plant performance Package consists of a set of modules, which compute the performance of the boiler, turbine, regenerative cycle, condensers and air heaters. The boiler efficiencies are computed by both the heat loss and the input/output methods. The package is based on ASME Performance Test Codes for Boilers, Turbines, Heaters, Air-heaters and other equipment and uses the ASME Steam Tables.

Description:
This optimization software generates the recommended data sets for the distribution of steam (demand) among the different boilers and for the distribution of the power (demand) among the different Turbine-Generator sets and Diesel-Generator sets installed in the plant to meet the steam and power demand in the entire plant. It also controls the power distribution from different generator sets and Electricity Board supplier. The whole package is implemented to minimize the cost of power utilized in the plant and the cost of the generated steam, which is used in the process and to generate the power. The whole optimization process is treated as linear programming problem, which is solved using the GAMS software.

It will also include important plant mimics and the plant controls. However, the dynamics of the system are not modeled with high fidelity. This allows the plant operator to be trained on waste water system operations easily so that he or she can make a smooth transition to the new CRT based plant operations that are being installed in the city.
