* Ongoing compilation on synthetic crude oils (properties, markets players, technical issues)
* Developed correlations to estimate stream properties and kinetic parameters for a customized software for a hydrotreating Unit and designed and wrote the user Manual for the version 1.0 of an Hydrotreatment Suite (3 software) for a local heavy crude oil upgrader.

* Acted as interface among project sponsors and the project managers of 5 Departments, supporting on time execution targets and ensuring clear information management
* Formulated the 2002 operational budget for the General Management, defined technical and financial execution targets and alert on execution variances.
* Evaluated more than 30 proposals in a year and reduced the number of projects by 33%, by consolidating projects dealing with similar subjects, optimizing resources, promoting cross team synergies.

* Defined new specifications for base oil manufacturing to comply with ILSAC GF-3, ensuring PDVSA lube market share
* Reduced by 12% the customers claims managing the Technical Services in Special Products (Asphalt, Waxes, Solvents and Bunkers) for the domestic market trading affiliate, maintaining connection between commercial and technical groups.
* Increased Project portfolio budget by 8% in a year, managing the Technical Assistance for a domestic Refinery in the areas of process, engineering, reliability, HSE mitigation and supervising 14 engineers.
* Process leader in the Basic Engineering Revamping filtration section of dewaxing unit at a domestic Refinery. Acceptation test run showed slack wax oil contents 2% lower than design.
* Prepared Technology Plan 1998-2003 in Waxes and Solvents for the domestic market trading affiliate and assisted with the preparation of the "PDVSA Lubes and Waxes Strategic Plan 1998-2010"
* Identified availability of feed, tanks/lines, site and required revamps at dewaxing units, in the feasibility study for wax production (a $ 43 million venture).
* Designed and led quarterly seminars for customers and personnel of the domestic market trading affiliate, and the annual Course "Base Oil and Wax Manufacturing" for graduated Process Engineers. Certified instructor by PDVSA Training Center.

* Acted as Head of Physical Separation and Hydrotreatment Sections, supervising 20 people
* Recommended changes in packed bed depth at Furfural Extraction unit in Refineria Isla (Curazao) to regain yields and products quality with savings of 890 K$/month

* Selected a lube dewaxing aid for a domestic Refinery, increasing base oil yields by 2%
