With over twenty -five years experience as Master, experience includes Marine Supt. Offshore Nigeria with intense marine operations for mature and developing fields. Change out of FPSO in September 2006. FPSO conversions, acting as Marine Consultant on survey work, final preparations and handover and responsibility for training of multinational personnel in FPSO operations.

Proven capabilities as ship handler: extensive experience with Product Tankers, OBO's, Bulk, Containers, RoRo, Drill Ships Master; OIM on FPSO's, Barge Master on FSO in Gabon, Mooring Master, Loading Master berthing 150,000 DWT tankers, Cargo Superintendent of FPSO, Chief Officer anchor/supply vessels. Chemical Tankers as Ch.Officer/2rd. Officer.

Duties include all marine matters, vessel inspections; HAZOP/HIRA for marine operations: maintaining Addax Safety Policies and Industrial Practices. Marine Representative for Addax Petroleum at the Okwori- OML 126/Antan Field OML 123. Work rotational tours at Antan and Okwori/Lagos Office, changed April 2006 to be permanent at Antan Field.
Marine Operations are intense in Antan Field, include 3 Jack up, 6 Satellite Platforms, 4 platforms and FPSO Knock Adoon with 4 lifting's per month; Lay barges engaged in pipe laying for CALM buoy, pipelines between new platforms and emergency pipe repairs. Numerous diving operations and survey work. The field has 10 support vessels and 3 zodiacs, 2 accommodation vessels. Preparation and Change out of FPSOs, monitoring installation CALM buoy and sub sea connection. A very wide experience of development in field.
Marine Operations at Okwori includes Semi Submersible Rig with 3 support vessels, FPSO Sendje Berge liftings monthly. Heavy lift work and working with DSV.
Lagos Office: advised on Marine Operations and Projects: Marine Safety, HSE and Security: Prepare proposals for contracts to Addax Tender Board for vessels.

Offshore Installation Manager - FPSO "IKDAM" Offshore Tunisia.
Duties and responsibilities associated with an Offshore Installation Manager: including ensuring the safety, health and welfare of all personnel and plant integrity on board.
Ensure all operational and HSE requirements are to Lundin Policies and procedures.
Carry out survey work, inspections to ensure vessel is to requirements of certifying authority and legislation.
Oversee and ensure all national personnel meet safety and emergency training requirements: deliver crew competency training to carry out their duties, this included Chief Officer's training for new role as OIM.
Encourage a crew of Tunisian personnel to improve and develop team work; pass on experience, build their competency and safety values, promote confidence to increase production efficiency and work development.
This FPSO was fitted with a Tripod Cantilever Mooring System which restricted movement of vessel. This required monitoring of the vessel position, as effects of sea / weather conditions and currents quickly required action from the standby supply vessel for towing operation, to resume neutral heading.

Most of period, was on Time Charter to PDVSA Venezuela: intense trade due the short distance between ports and handling multi grades.
Vessel built in Romania requiring a lot of attention/experience to handle, in the difficult trades. Oil Major Inspections completed.

Marine Consultant - FPSO Ikdam near end of US$57 Conversion: work entailed all Class surveys to finalise documentation DNV and Flag State for sailing to location.
New equipment, some work on commissioning. Full Training Program for Tunisian Officer's and crew for sailing on an operational FPSO.

Barge Master - FSO Gabon. Mooring /Loading Master on Export Tankers
Duties and responsibilities for FSO all safety and procedures associated with an Oil Major company. FSO of 150,000 DWT was fixed storage vessel with a 12 anchor spread pattern.
Bow to bow tandem mooring: When Export Tankers arrived performed the task of Mooring Master berthing the vessels of 150,000 DWT requiring a high degree of skill due to the varying currents and close position of the Production Platform.
During the off take required to constantly monitor and adjust the Tanker using the two aft supply boats used during the cargo operation. Bi-weekly berthing of Tankers to tandem moorings. While on board the export tanker carried out the duties of Loading Master including paperwork for documents.

May 1998 – Oct 1999
Northern Marine
Master Asphalt trade Med – West Africa. USA – Caribbean
The full responsibilities and duties required of the Master. Prepare the ship and crew, for ISM and US Coastguard inspections. Dry-dock and repairs in Las Palmas included full document presentation to class for special survey 20 yr and carrying out the survey.

Master Product Tanker. Alaska/Japan/Korea and Far East.
Carrying products of Naphtha and Jet A1. Ice experience in Alaska. Vessel had not had an Oil Major inspection for 2 yrs and required a lot of preparation work. 3 Oil Major Inspections were completed without deficiencies.

Duties/responsibilities: all the aspects cargo operation, for the deck maintenance and organising the deck crew. FPSO was for process crude oil and gas.

Lightering Operation off Rabeigh Saudi Arabia includes two tours on lightering vessel and one on the Mother Ship. Large number of berthing – total 187 berth and intership. While on the Mother ship, co-ordinating the lightering operation.
During this period involved in 3 dry-docks, 2 repair periods for 15/25/30 special surveys with large amount of steelwork. All the vessels' were on intense trades.

Vessel was experiencing problems with contaminations and crew: recommended by Clyde Marine as Master due to my previous Product Tanker experience. The Officer's and Crew were not fully experienced with this type of vessel, brought vessel up to standard. Organised full dry-dock specifications and completed in Durban.

Various types of vessel and involved in different trades. During this period heavily involved in ship handling and is probably the foundation of my ship handling ability. Freight Ro-Ro Newhaven/Dieppe daily service with Pilot Exemption both ports.
Ports were extremely difficult for approach due weather and strong tides: berthing in very limited area. Reefer/ Container service Caribbean bi-weekly service difficult to maintain schedule had to be very active in insuring good turn-rounds.
