Chambal Fertilizers and Chemicals Limited, K.K. Birla flagship company with a turnover of around 4500 crores is one of the finest and high-tech Gas/Naphtha based fertilizer company in India handling the need of Urea in the north-west sector of India to the large extent.
 Maintenance of Ammonia-2 plant (Based on Kellogg's Technology), which also comprises one Auxiliary Boiler (with capacity 156 Tons/Hr Superheated Steam at 115 kg/cm2, 510 Deg C), Instrument air Plant & Cooling Towers (capacity: 25500 CUM/Hr).
 Material & Manpower planning of ATR for Ammonia Plant
 Study, BOQ preparation & execution for various Modification schemes for the plant.
 Overhauling of various high speed & high pressure Pumps, Turbines, Compressors, gearboxes & Fans etc.
 Exposure in material selection, Fabrication, Erection and commissioning of high pressure & high temperature process piping and their components being used in Fertilizer plants.
 Familiarity with engineering standards applicable to process industries.

Worked in Urea plant and offsites & Utilities section during the stay in company. Major work exposures are listed below:
 Major overhauling of Gas Turbine (Supplied by THOMMASSEN GE) of 20 MW capacities employed to satisfy plant power requirement. It includes Rotor removal, Blades inspection of turbine & compressor, liner checking, Load gearbox overhauling, Auxiliary Gear box o/h etc.
 General Maintenance of Gas Turbines (2 units) of 20 MW each, Hot gas path & Combustion path inspection, Maintenance of Heat Recovery Units (2 units) of 98TPH Superheated steam, Auxiliary Boiler (110 TPH) and various types of valves for different services viz. Ammonia, KS Steam, HS Steam, LS Steam, Acid, Alkali etc.
 Complete Overhauling of Boiler feed water pump of KSB make and having 11-stages.
 Overhauling of CO2 compressor, which is a four stage centrifugal compressor (160 kg/cm2) supplied by BHEL.
 AMMONIA REACTOR FEED PUMPS (Reciprocating Pump with Diff. Pr: 220 kg/cm2)
* Change Seal Oil flushing system to Condensate Flushing system in 2 nos. Ammonia Feed Pump supplied by URACA (Germany) model no KD-827. Replacement of traditional Valve Block to Modified Valve block, which use profile rings for sealing Tandem valves & block cover in place of o-rings.
* Completely Overhauled Power End & Fluid End of Ammonia Feed Pumps (High Pressure Pump (240 kg/cm2), required for reactor feeding. It includes replacements of Crankshaft, Main bearing, Small end Bush Bearings, Crossheads & Crosshead Bushings.
* Completely Overhauled Torque Converter (Model RL-211) supplied by M/s Voith (Germany).
* Made & Implemented the Overhauling/Schedule checking for Torque converter, Main Pump & Gear Box.
 CARBAMATE TRANSFER PUMPS:
* Overhauling of high RPM pumps (Model: 3512, Two Stage, (16216 RPM)) employed for carbamate transfer services supplied by SUNDSTRAND FLUID HANDLING (GERMANY).
* Overhauled the Seal flush pumps of Carbamate pumps.
 UREA REACTOR (OPERATING PR:160 KG/CM2)
* Annual Inspection of Reactor for checking the weld condition of liner with the Shell.
* Complete welding of both the reactors was carried out.
* Involved with the M/s FBM Hudson, Italy during Inspection of reactor. As per suggestion of M/s FBM Hudson full penetration welding of both the reactor trays supports were carried out.
 UREA STRIPPER: (OPERATING PRESSURE: 145 KG/CM2)
* Carried out the Stripper Reversal activity for two nos. of Urea Strippers.
* Annual Inspection of Urea Stripper. It includes the internals removal, Inspection, Repair & Box up.
 Maintenance of Steam Turbines and Reciprocating Compressors.
 Maintenance of High, Medium and Low-pressure Reciprocating, Centrifugal pumps, barrel type vertical pumps, Screw Compressors and FD Fans.
 Maintenance experience with High, Medium and Low Pressure vessels such as Reactors, Strippers, Heat Exchangers, Condensers, Tanks and etc.
 Vendor's development for supply of quality spares parts at reasonable prices.
 Indianization of spares as much as possibly but not at the cost of quality.
 Executed many improvement initiatives in Urea plant as British Safety Council Award, 5-S activities, TBEM (Tata Business Excellence Model based on Prestigious Malcom Balridge Award) etc.
 Implemented the RCA (Root Cause Analysis System) model in the department. It is based on famous 8-D model for identifying the root cause.
 Planning, Scheduling and Execution of preventive maintenance, predictive maintenance, breakdown maintenance and shutdown activities.
 Familiarity with Engineering Codes and Standards.
 Preparation of Annual budget for Annual Maintenance Contract, Spares and Consumables.
