Experience
IT Manager, Centurion Petroleum Corporation, Feb. 2005 – Present.
Centurion Petroleum Corporation (CPC) is a fast growing Gas and Oil exploration company, Cairo office is the major contributor and the main activity center of Centurion Energy International; a Canadian Energy Company owned by Dana Gas PJSC (Public Joint Stock Company) the first regional private sector natural gas resource enterprise to be established in the Gulf area.
* Reporting to the General Manager, responsible for all computer and communication systems for CPC at Cairo Office as the major office for Centurion Energy International.
* Assume overall financial accountability for the Entire Company IT, including developing and managing an annual IT budget of $4 million.
* Oversee a staff of 4 consisting of a IT Specialist / network administrator, Geosciences Data administrator and Two Communication Specialist in supporting 80+ employees.
* Successfully implemented multiple IT projects ranging from $40K to $1500K, provide the technology knowledge and vision to support the company's business objectives, and evaluate and recommend all software for business processes.

Selected Accomplishments
LAN and WAN
* Specified and upgraded all computer equipment from desktop to back-end servers for all departments.
* Designed and implemented a WAN infrastructure using Motorola Canopy OFDM wireless technology with 2Mb Circuit.
* Integrated Windows 2003 servers into the network using Active Directory structure.
* Implemented a VPN solution via the Internet to enable a secure connection between Cairo office and corporate headquarters at Calgary and London offices.
* Involved in day-to-day operation of Windows 2003 network in addition to effort to migrate to an all IP network.
* Manage RedHat Enterprise Server platform and 7 RedHat Workstations at the Exploration department. Perform backup and restore for all projects and data import and export for and to different vendors and companies.
* Administer IDEAS for Windows, the main financial ERP component based on MS SQL 2005 server, this include tune the database, backup and restore, perform database consistency check on regular bases. Communicate with IDEAS support to escalate any system issues.
* Deployed Blackberry Enterprise server and blackberry devices for several mission critical managers.
* Assist during the setup of MCS drilling reporting system.
Training and Support
* Implemented computer-based e-learning system for E&P departments, utilizing (IPIMS) from IHRDC, eliminating the need to send users to outside training and providing a means of easily tracking employee progress to the established training requirements.
* Created and manage standard desktop images for employees based on job function reducing the time required to install appropriate software on a new PC by copying the appropriate image to a new computer's hard drive instead of loading individual software applications.
Enterprise Document Management System.
* Defining the gab of needs for each department with respect to day to day document handling and processing.
* Analyzing the requirements of each department.
* Prepare project charter, RFB and formulate the scope of work.
* Selecting the best Application and service that meet specification of RFB and requested proof of concept by implementing a pilot project.
* Monitor the project progress, allocating resources and time to meet the project schedule.
* Train the users and administrators.
* Manage and administer the system, provide technical and business support for the deferent departments.
E-Mail and Security
* Designed and implemented an STMP-based MS Exchange mail server and standardized the entire company on Outlook Express including creating an e-mail domain and managing users.
* Secure the messaging system at the server level by implementing McAfee Group-Shield for MS Exchange 2003.
* Migrated to Internet standard messaging and installed E1 connectivity to the Internet.
* Selected and implemented UTM system (Universal Threat Management), to protect company assets and minimize exposure from Viruses, Spam, Spyware, URL content filtering to utilize the internet bandwidth.
