Job Description: Responsible for the repair of all mechanical equipment within the plant, example ABB. Steam Turbine, ABB.Generator H2 Cooled, ABB. Gas Turbine GT26, ABB. Boilers & Associated and Safety Valves, Borsig Gas Compressor, Condensate Pumps, Main Cooling Tower Pumps, Cooling Tower Gear Boxes and Motors, Boiler Feed Water Pump.

Performs regular preventative and predictive maintenance checks on plant equipment, Trouble shoot all plant systems and submit job requests on those systems that require maintenance work, maintain the units within all applicable guidelines and regulations, including emissions, efficiency, heat rate, capacity and safety, maintains a complete set of maintenance records and schedules on plant equipment using computerized maintenance management system (MOZAIC).

Assess stock levels and recommending additions of stock to the Assistant Plant Manager. As well as identifying needed stock fill out appropriate purchase orders and places orders with suppliers.

Planning and maintaining Network of major work overs, being the complete Retrofit of plate packs in Distillation column (planning and supervision of work over from start to completion).

Worked in the Operations section at the Maui Production Station in the fractionation and gas train areas as an Operation Technician.

Duties Included monitoring, controlling, isolation, maintenance and recommissioning of these systems.

The fractionation trains consist of separators, condensers both air and refrigerant, reboilers using hot oil and condensate, de-ethaniser, de-butaniser and de-propaniser towers and various pumps and fans. Solar turbines are also used as gas and refrigerant compressors.

In the fast train area various processes are involved. There are glycol purification and regenerating systems, 5 hot oil heaters and 3 gas trains which are chilled by the refrigerant systems of which there are two primary and secondary. There is also a flare knockout system and waste water system that pass through this area.

Was also the Leading Hand/Co-ordinator for the 07 Fractionation train de-butaniser refit. This involved planning of all facets of the work and liaising with contract staff. He was also responsible for all safety aspects of the project. The job was completed on time without incident.

Complete overhauling of G.E. Turbo Generators of 20 M.V. capacity and Steam Turbines of 15 H.P. capacity.

Carried out complete overhaul of G.E frame 5 gas turbines during major shutdowns. Assisted Thomason Service Engineer in installation of three reciprocating Thomason Compressors, followed by a complete overhaul to the base of the above compressors.

Complete overhaul of Clark Rotary Compressor with complete dismantling to rebuilding using new rotor, bearings etc.

Worked on F.M.C. loading arm on a complete overhaul including hydraulics and electrical components as well as complete mechanical workout.

Did a complete installation and commissioning of a whole new plant, Light Isomate Plant, which included installation and commissioning of pumps, motor, turbines and Air & Gas compressors (Rotary and Reciproting).
