Introduction: Currently employed by Sclumberger/WesternGeco in KSA as a Senior Geophysicist. A total of seven years experience as Exploration Geophysicist including Interpretation, Processing and field Acquisition in Pakistan and Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Interpretation of 2D and 3D data consisted of an extensive evaluation of seismic attributes was mandatory on all 2D/3D prospects worked on. The processing and acquisition was confined to detailed QC processing, QC of seismic field parameters, and 3D acquisition planning and designing. Experienced in Dynamite, Vibroseis and Air gun data acquisition, processing and Interpretation.

* Presently employed as a Senior Geophysicist by Sclumberger/WesternGeco since Nov 2000.
* Worked as a Geophysicist in Pakistan Oilfields Limited (Oil & Gas Exploration / Production Company) from February 1998 to Dec 2000. Started as a Junior Geophysicist and later in 1999 promoted to Geophysicist.
* Worked as Geophysicist in Mathtech Pakistan (Geophysical / Geological services) from December 01, 1997 to January 28, 1998. Mainly involved in transcription and seismic processing.
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
WesternGeco, Nov 2000-Present Senior Geophysicist, International Commuter
The job consists of utilization of my previous experience in Interpretation and processing, Involved in many small Interpretation projects after acquisition and processing the data. Currently working on Qatif TZ 3Dproject (A mega Transition Zone 3D project ) which involves on site planning, processing and reconnaissance interpretation of primary and secondary targets. Other Major areas of duties are
* 3D Seismic Survey planning / QC, data management, verification of the fold fold boundary area considering the impact of different offset ranges resulting in different fold contribution at different depths, affect of the dip to the Migration Aperture
* Field processing includes resampling, filters application, statics, deconvolution, velocity picking, velocity model displays, calculation and display of different seismic attributes.
* FK,FX and velocity analysis and displays to QC and process different kinds of Sources ( Vibroseis, dynamite and Air gun) and Sensors ( Geophones, Marsh phones, Hydrophones and Dual Sensors).
* On site Interpretation includes mapping of Primary/Secondary targets, analysis of the seismic attributes like velocity, amplitude and frequency and the impact of different geometry and parameters on amplitude and frequency contents.
3D data has been shot, processed and also interpreted for development purposes, major 3D projects are
* Qatif TZ 3D (Wide Azimuth, Tranzition Zone 3D), 240 fold on Land, 480 fold offshore.
* Abqaiq Project(Double Zig Zag 3D Geometry, 360/472 Fold Coverage), Abqaiq field.
* Haradh Block 4&8, Hawiayah Block-4&5 (Wide Azimuth 3D Geometry, 960 Fold Coverage), South Gawar field.

SEISMIC DATA INTERPRETATION
Manual and workstation seismic interpretation for TIME & DEPTH mapping, with integration of surface seismic, borehole seismic, surface geology and well data, in both Compressional and Extensional environments for regional as well as prospect generation purposes.
* 3D seismic interpretation of different blocks of POL in Pakistan by using Geoframe 3.7 (Charisma) workstation. (Pindori, Pariwali )
* 2D seismic interpretation of different blocks of POL in Pakistan by using Geoframe 3.7 (Charisma) workstation for e.g. Khushalgarh & Southern Sind.
* 2D seismic manual interpretation of different blocks of POL in Pakistan for e.g. Central Potwar, Khushalgarh & Southern Sind.
Major contribution involved in the final mapping of Pindori & Pariwali fields on the basis of 2D/3D data which eventually led to major oil fields.
2D/3D SEISMIC DATA ACQUISITION & PROCESSING
* Survey planning, co-ordination with local authorities and permitting staff, parameter selection. Experience with Vibroseis and explosive techniques with cable recording system. Recording parameters optimization, field tests, monthly instrument tests etc. Experience & supervision of uphole and refraction surveys for computing the statics.
* Assistance in planning, management. parameters selection and quality control and interpretation of the data for Vertical Seismic Profiling surveys using offset, multi offset & zero offset vibroseis and air gun sources.
* Selection and consideration of different processing techniques, algorithms, modules and their parameters, considering objective such as zone of interest, Surface / Sub-surface geology, Reservoir Characteristics, Seismic velocities play etc.
DATA MANAGEMENT AND OFFICE ADMINISTRATION
Besides all technical work I also supervised data management, receiving, shipment, QC of incoming/outgoing data, and archiving of the geophysical data. Regarding office administration I performed following duties:
