Over ten (10) years experience in mechanical engineering for major oil, gas and petrochemical projects. * Extensive experience in mechanical engineering design, construction support and management of EPC / EPCM projects from conceptual studies through detailed engineering in oil, gas and petrochemical environment.
* Experience includes design analysis, P&IDs and DBM review, equipment specifications, material requisitions, work packages/bid package preparation, contract document, bid evaluation and recommendation, vendor technical packages review and approval, installation details, construction support, HAZOP, FEED, detailed engineering and project management for oil, gas, Chemical and Petro-Chemical industries.
* Well versed with application of industry codes/standards: ASME, ANSI, API, ASTM and TEMA and local regulations.
* Preparation of clarifications and deviations from original specifications/scope and issuing of change orders, recommend or confirm design changes, material and equipment substitutes.
* Interface with the Project Management Team (PMT), quality/inspection department, other disciplines, project contractors and equipment manufactures to support procurement and accumulate vendor data to ensure that the engineering performed and the project execution implemented on projects follows the approved execution strategies, plans, procedures and standards, as well as the applicable legislation.
* Analysis of information and data relative to operating requirements, process, economic considerations and such other pertinent factors as may be involved as a preliminary step in support of proposals for new construction modifications or maintenance to equipment.
* Follow and inspect the construction progress of assigned projects assuring conformance with design specifications, codes, standards and local regulations.
* Performs work and/or delegates work to other engineers for final development of specialized or technical proposals and proposed projects.
* Reviews cost estimates, recommendation from vendors, discusses, coordinates and resolves problems with other disciplines and vendors.

Major Projects:
Pengrowth Energy Trust, Lindbergh Oilsands Project
Pengrowth plans to construct and operate a heavy oil recovery project on a lease in the McMurray formation known as Lindbergh. The reservoir is suitable for steam assisted gravity drainage (SAGD). As a minimum, the facility is projected to produce 360 m3/d (2,260 bpd) of heavy oil. The basic development would include two (2) well pads of four (4) well pairs each. The central plant facility would be designed to meet the current and potential heavy oil processing needs of 400 m3/d.
The Project facilities for the Lindbergh SAGD pilot are based on utilizing a majority of the area already developed for the previous Murphy Lindbergh CSS pilot project. The former Murphy site contains some equipment that is no longer viable or required. These equipments will be removed and disposed safely and properly.
* As mechanical engineer on this project, working on FEED and detail engineering (later) for various equipments and packages such as shop fabricated tanks, separators, flare stack also responsible for mechanical man-hour estimates, monitor and maintain project progress (mechanical), update progress report, etc.

STATOIL (Formerly North American Oilsands Corporation) Commercial Demonstration Plant Phase–1
Steam–assisted gravity drainage (SAGD) technology is being employed to recover bitumen. The facility has a nameplate capacity of 10,000 bpd. On a stream day basis, the plant capacity is 2234 m3/d with a maximum steam injection capacity of 8937 m3/d. Maximum expected plant production rate can be increased to 3575 m3/d.

* As a Mechanical Engineer performed FEED and detailed engineering of reverse osmosis(RO) and ultra filtration(UF) packages for potable water, flare system, indirect fired heater packages, flame arrestors, chemical storage tanks, Field erected and shop fabricated tanks, air cooled heat exchanger, glycol heater package, truck loading and diluent unloading packages, safety showers packages and scrubber package for acid vapors.

Canadian Natural Resources Limited: (CNRL), Wolf Lake 4
A new plant, Wolf Lake 4 (WL4), is being built to accommodate the Primrose East and other expanded production. The proposed capacity of Wolf Lake 4 Plant is 4000 m3/d oil and 25000 m3/d produced water to boiler feed water. This project is to provide FEED and detailed engineering, for the Wolf Lake 4 Plant with its associated additions and upgrades to utilities and offsite facilities.

* As a Mechanical Engineer at Wolf Lake 4 project, involved in FEED for oil removal filters, standalone separator vessels, etc.

MEG Energy Christina Lake Regional Project Phase-2
Steam–assisted gravity drainage (SAGD) technology is being employed to recover bitumen. The second phase of development is a nominal 22, 000 bpd (3498 m3/d) of bitumen for a total of 25,000 bpd (3975 m3/d) of combined bitumen production in the first two phases.

* As a Mechanical Engineer on this project, performed FEED and detailed engineering of field erected and shop fabricated storage tanks, centrifugal pumps, glycol heater package and pressure relieving system.

Responsibilities:

* Preparation of technical specification and data sheets based on process input for pressure vessels, storage tanks, pumps, filters and heat exchangers as per the requirements of engineering Codes, Standards and local regulations.
* Preparation of RFQ for packages and standalone equipments including data sheets, specifications, vendors supply commitment (VSC), quality surveillance etc.
* Technical review of vendor packages, technical bid evaluation and recommendations.
* Prepared RFPs for standalone and packaged equipment.
* Coordination/communication with other disciplines and vendors related to budgetary quotes, technical issues and clarifications throughout the project.
* Updated PFDs, P&IDs and mechanical equipment list in accordance with vendor data.
* Inter discipline coordination to complete the design process to meet the schedule deadlines and resolve technical issues.
* Meetings with the client, different disciplines and vendors to finalize technical issues and design details.
* Review and verify vendor drawings, data and design calculations.
* Worked closely with expeditors to updated vendor's data according to VSC.
* Review and approve vendor designs and drawings to ensure conformity with project specifications, company guidelines and engineering practices.
* Mentoring, directing and providing guidance to junior mechanical engineers (EIT)

M & J Engineering Limited is an Engineering company severing Oil & Gas, Petrochemical industries in Pakistan. During this period worked on several projects related to Oil & Gas and Petrochemical projects with leading clients including: Pakistan Refinery Ltd (PRL), National Refinery Ltd (NRL), ICI Pakistan, Novatex Limited, and CALTEX Pakistan.

Mechanical Design Engineer April 1993- June 1996

As a member of project design team worked on several Oil, Gas and petrochemical projects as Mechanical Design Engineer.

* Part of the team in designing and preparation of shop drawings of pressure vessels, API storage tanks, flare stacks and piping etc. for Kadanwari Gas Field.
* Detail designing, supervision of shop drawings, piping plans and isometrics of 3 x 98.25 ft. diameter storage tanks for Pakistan Refinery Ltd.
* Detailed engineering design of skirt type De-hydration tower (14200 mm ht. x 914 mm dia.) at an internal pressure of 55 bar(g).

Responsibilities:

* Supervision and monitoring of shop and site fabrication and erection activities of storage tanks, pressure vessels, boiler, conditioning towers etc as per the requirements of applicable codes, standards and local regulations.
* Scope of work, contract documents, sub-contracting and construction support.
* Planned, supervised and monitored fabrication and erection of steel structure and piping, pre-commissioning and final Tie-in with the existing facility.
* Resource allocation and planning for completion of the assigned tasks within the specified time frame and budget.

* Design and preparation of detailed drawings as per applicable engineering codes and standards for storage tanks, pressure vessels, flare stacks and allied piping systems with the help of code and standards.

* Preparation of RFP, review and approve vendor designs and drawings.
