Process Unit Team Leader for Turnaround and Projects:
I assigned to Turnaround and Projects Teams to revise documentation, verify field modifications, follow up to construction and participate during commissioning and start up. I prepared start up and process procedures to the new and modified equipment and piping systems, status reports and supported planners to include shutdown/start up activities and required isolation blinds into the master plan. I participated in the Extended Work Permit implementation process. During Execution of the projects and turnarounds, I was responsible to coordinate the issue of work permits, reviewed job safety analysis, inspected and signed equipment closure forms and mechanical acceptance on process system for a safely and reliable start up.
Process Team Leader for Treatment and Utility Units. I was responsible to supervise Production Technicians and Panel Board Technician Team in order to warranty production goals at Naphtha hydrotreating, Sour Water Stripper, Sulfur Recovery, Amine Treatment and Sulfur Solids Handling Units. I prepared process guidelines for the process shift, including planned maintenance activities and emergency response drills. In this position I reported to Process Superintendent and participated in accident investigations, prepared shift reports, coordinated any corrective maintenance required at any of the mentioned units, coordinated the implementation of Emergency Contingency Plans and guarantied the availability of supplies and chemicals required to ensure process continuity.
Shipment Coordinator:
I was responsible for management all those activities associated with the strategy to storage, delivery and/or transport Synthetic and Diluted Crude Oil, Diluent, Coque and Sulfur at the Jose Upgrader and Pipeline System. I was accountable to deliver a daily distribution (Feed and Products) plan to determine the rates to the units. As Shipment Coordinator I developed the Shipment Guidelines, Shipment Report, Shipment Intention Letter and Shipment Notification letters. Also I executed daily production and Inventories report follow up, delivered monthly shipment report, Diluted Crude Oil received and delivered to unit, diluent, LCGO, AGO and naphtha productions. I kept continuous communication with the ExxonMobil Commercial group and Planners/Scheduling Engineers in charge of planning feed & products inventory and loads management, in order to define and prepare the operational strategy in the process units. I was also responsible that products storage strategy were aligned to accomplish quality specifications and commercial shipping schedule. Coordinated oil transfers activities between Petro-Terminal Jose, OCN Downstream and OCN Upstream. I ensured the follow up and the application of all OCN and Venezuela safety and environmental regulations during the shipping process.
Panel Operator:
I was in charge for operating, watching and controlling the process and the environmental emanations of the naphtha hydrotreating, hydrogen, sour water sulfur recovery and sulfur solids units, interacting with control systems I/A FOXBORO, the Distributed Control System (DCS) and applications for analysis and detection on time of flaws as PI System implemented at Jose Upgrader. This responsibility included analysis and precise adjustments to control process indicators and tendencies in order to support the operational continuity on the plant, optimize the process, get quality products and ensure high equipment reliability. I participated in the preparation and execution of process manuals based on ExxonMobil Standards. In addition, I was responsible to report any alarm fail or emergency system activation. I participated in shift handover meetings ensuring process continuity and highlighting any adjustment condition required or implemented. I coordinated the equipment preparation for any maintenance activity planned for the current or following shift.
Shift Operator Technician for Treatment and Utility Units:
During construction of the facility, I was responsible for commissioning activities and participated in the preparation of Start Up and Operation Procedures for Naphtha Hydrotreating, Hydrogen, Sour Water, Sulfur Recovery and Solid Sulfur Units. After start up I was accountable for checking and controlling safety and equipments operations conditions by the fulfillment of operational standards, to ensure the process continuity with minimum impact in costs and environment. Also I was responsible to operate furnaces, pumps, compressors, and other Plant equipment to ensure the operations effectiveness, also identified and implemented corrective actions by the continuous inspections of the equipment, to ensure reliable and safe operational conditions. Functioned as Equipment Care Technician, and routinely used Maintenance skills in performing simple maintenance activities. Prepared the equipments that should be taken to Maintenance for their repair, in compliance with safety, standards, to meet timely with unit preventive and corrective Maintenance planning. Ensured the personnel and facilities safety and security, and keeps them clean and in good order, to avoid accidents, conducting in depth monitoring and preventative maintenance. Executed operation procedures, in compliance with operational standards to ensure continuity in the process based on operational objectives. Recorded all relevant operational events and provided detailed, clear and accurate information during shift handover, to keep updates of Unit conditions and reduce equipments adjustment time. Direct the implementation of Units Training Programs and required expertise levels, and increases personnel training and added value to the operation. Take samples of products for laboratory analysis. Controlled and monitored jobs carried out by Maintenance area teams.
Other Responsibilities:
Participated in the preparation of Risk Assessments and "Management of Change" associated to procedures and activities developed at the Treatment and Utility Units.
SHERPA Leader for process department, responsible to provide guidance and orientation to accomplish high safety behavior at the facility.
