I, hold a Postgraduate Degree in Applied Geology (M.Sc Tech) from prestigious Andhra University, India. Presently I am working as a Mudlogger since 3+ years at Oil Field Instrumentation, Mumbai. And also I have experience in the areas of Geographical Information System and Photogrammetry Applications. I am keen to pursue a career in the field of Geology with specific interest in oil & Gas sector.

I am looking for this field right from when I joined college, its my ambition to work for an oil company which are in exploration or drilling. And If I get it, it will be a dream come true for me. The Job Involves

Kick Control: Monitoring pumping data ( SPM, SPP, Lag time, Lag strokes ) during kick circulations and necessary operations. Identify probable cause of kick and recommending actions to prevent further occurrences.
Monitoring Mud (Mud vol, Mud wt., Visc. Mud Temp, Mud Cond.etc), Gas and drilling parameters ( ROP, WOB, RPM, SPM, SPP, Hook load and torque etc.) for signs of imbalance of down hole. Monitoring of hole filling parameters during all trips.

Gas Detection: Monitoring of Gas through hydrocarbons Analyzer, Gas Chromatograph and Cutting Gas Detector, Vacuum Mud Still. Continuous separation of Hydrocarbon gases C1, C2, C3, iC4, nC4 and C5.

Sampling: Collection of drilled samples at specified lagged intervals.
Washing, sieving and drying followed by packing and labelling.
Microscopic examination of samples and their interpretation, Fluorescence and Solvent Cut examination
Determination of shale density and shale factor,
Determination of calcimetry
Handling of core samples which include recovery, orientation sampling ( packing & sealing ). Preparation of required core logs and reports.

Others:

Prepare final well reports, which include Master log, Pressure plot, Shale Density & Shale Factor Plots, Drilling parameters, Bit details, Gas analysis data, Casing & Cementation data etc.
Organize the well control data for interpretation and future planning.
Assist the drill site personals in determining mud densities required for safe drilling

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Installation, operation, maintenance and calibration of different parameters in Mud logging unit.
