He is responsible for the study, design, specification and services related to process plants. Responsible for heat and material balances, the development of process flow diagrams, piping and instrument diagrams, system design parameters, and design or rating of equipment and apparatus such as heat exchangers, vessels, separators, etc.
His responsibilities include the setting and updating of the technical standards and procedures within the group. Conducting various aspects of performance management such as performance appraisal or counselling of employees with behaviour or technical performance problems and assists in the interviewing, hiring, and assignment of new personnel in the discipline.
He has more than ten years' experience in the petrochemical processing (up and down stream) and effluent treatment industries in capacities ranging through planning, design, construction, commissioning, operation, training and auditing.
Started his professional career at an environmental company, Weir Envig (Veolia), designing water and effluent treatment plants – specialising mainly in the field of desalination. After some four years in the industry, he joined KBR as a Process Engineer, directing his focus to the petrochemical, upstream and offshore industries.
Neil is also the technology holder for KBR's Aquaform technology.
