EXPERIENCE: IPR TRANSOIL CORP., CAIRO, EGYPT
2000 to 2001
Exploration Manager: Effectively managed a small Egyptian exploration team and re-focused IPR’s exploration efforts in their North Ras Qattara, North Bahariya and El Diyur exploration concessions in the Western Desert of Egypt. Key accomplishments included the first exploration well being an oil discovery in the North Bahariya Concession. Discovery is currently under evaluation for possible development. Re-evaluation of all concessions led to very attractive exploration prospect portfolio, which is currently being drilled. Coordination with WEPCO, IPR’s joint operating company with EGPC, has led to a renewed exploration effort in the Alamein Development Lease.
TRITON ENERGY LTD., DALLAS, TEXAS
1998 – 1999
Regional Exploration Manager – Africa / Middle East: Responsibilities included managing existing company operated exploration programs in Equatorial Guinea, Madagascar, and Oman. Responsible for developing exploration strategy and subsequent implementation in the subject area. Key accomplishments included the successful farmout of Block 40, offshore Oman, and joint development of various acquisition strategies and business builds in West Africa, and the Middle East. Project Leader for a small asset team that identified a new deepwater play fairway in Blocks F and G, offshore Equatorial Guinea, West Africa that has since led to two significant oil discoveries by Triton (Ceiba, Okume, etc.).
TRITON OMAN, INC., MUSCAT, SULTANATE OF OMAN
1996 - 1998
Resident Manager / Exploration Manager: Established Triton’s first foothold in the Middle East by establishing a branch office in Muscat to conduct an exploration program in Triton’s newly acquired Block 22, offshore Oman. Formulated exploration work programs and budgets, implemented them on time, and within budget. Completed a comprehensive business plan for Oman, which proved to be instrumental in identifying an exploration opportunity in the Strait of Hormuz (Block 40). Played a significant part in the subsequent PSC negotiations for the block, which Triton acquired in June 1998. Significant and cordial business relationship established and maintained with the Omani government.
TRITON ARGENTINA, INC., BUENOS AIRES, ARGENTINA
1996
General Manager: Effectively managed Triton’s exploration subsidiary in Argentina. Several key accomplishments included significant G&A cost reductions, identified new play fairway in existing acreage, and a farmout of existing acreage, that was to be relinquished at no value to Triton, for an overriding royalty interest.

1992 – 1996
Senior Staff Geologist: Conducted basin analyses on all basins in Mexico, and ranked basins, if and when Mexico opened up to foreign participation. Mexican evaluation led to identification of play fairways extending into Guatemala. Triton subsequently acquired two very prospective exploratory blocks in the South Peten Basin of Guatemala. Identified new, untested play in Ecuador’s Block 19 in the Oriente Basin. Triton was subsequently awarded this block.

1990 – 1991
Consultant/Senior Staff Geologist: Employed initially as a Consultant, subsequently hired full time as a Senior Staff Geologist. Evaluated and developed new, and operated, exploration ventures worldwide with particular emphasis on Latin America/Argentina and the Neuquen Basin. Additional areas of responsibility included exploration studies, both regional and project, on Trend exploration/production license areas in Indonesia, Pakistan and Papua New Guinea. Reviewed farmout/farmin submittals from various companies. Performed petrophysical computer analyses of Trend exploration and development wells.
DENIMIN S.A. (Argentine Subsidiary of Denison Mines Limited of Toronto, Canada), BUENOS AIRES, ARGENTINA
1987 – 1989
Exploration Manager: Transferred from Denison’s Egyptian operations to Argentina and promoted to Exploration Manager. Established a branch office in Buenos Aires, and formed a small exploration and administrative staff in order to evaluate various bid rounds and farmout opportunities in Argentina. Operated a study / bid group which later successfully acquired an exploration block in the bid round.
AGIBA PETROLEUM COMPANY (Operating Company Owned Jointly by Denison Mines Limited and The Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation), CAIRO, EGYPT
1986 – 1987
Exploration Dept. Head: Supervised and led a small team of explorationists that discovered significant oil reserves for the company in the Meleiha field complex in Egypt’s Western Desert. These fields were subsequently brought on stream in record time through the combined efforts of all members of the team. Additional oil reserves were also confirmed in the Aghar area of the West Razzak Concession of the Western Desert.

Staff Exploration Geologist: Responsible for exploration in many frontier and mature basins in South America. A member of a small team of explorationists that added significant oil reserves to the company in Latin America.
