Objective:

A Lead Geoscientist posting with an operator that require experienced, dynamic and multi-skilled personnel. My preference would be multi-tasking requirements across various disciplines.

Overview:

* I have 18 years of oilfield experience. I have a wide background covering open and cased hole wireline operations, logging-while-drilling and wireline log interpretation, geosteering, extended reach operations, core analysis, facies/lithology studies and correlations, tender evaluation and documentation. I have experience from both carbonate and clastic reservoirs.

* A teacher and mentor of Log Analysts, Petrophysicists and Geologists through the years. These cover lecturing new recruits at training schools and teaching of advanced logging interpretation and well placement during seminars. I am presently a mentor of Junior Petrophysicists.

* I have been involved in contract tendering as an operator and contract bidding from the service company side. I consider myself having a strong handle on the technical and legal subtleties that are part of these preparations and evaluations.

* A competent operational Petrophysicist with solid training and experience in sedimentary Geology.

* An experienced user of various software packages, such as: Geoframe, Emeraude, Saphir, PowerLog, Geolog and also the horizontal geosteering application Real-Time-GeoSteering (RTGS).

In addition to the eighteen years of diversified and multi-cultural industry experience, a 1st Class Hons Bachelor of Engineering degree, Mechanical Engineering from University of Stratchclyde, Glasgow, Scotland and an ongoing distance-learning M.Sc. in Petroleum Engineering at Heriott-Watt. Lead Petrophysicist for Maersk Oil Qatar during the execution of the current Field Development Plan. Operationally responsible for daily evaluation of LWD logs and also interpretation and planning of geosteering information in mainly horizontal wells, covering up to 25000 ft reservoir sections in relatively thin clastic and carbonate reservoirs.
Mentoring of junior staff.
Created a new method for assigning facies from raw LWD logs in horizontal wells with the aim of automating permeability transforms for upscaling into the static model of a carbonate reservoir.

The main achievement during this period was linking Norsk Hydro with the SLB perforation center for the development of a new gun system that eventually increased well production 10-fold compared to previous field average (Directional PURE guns).
