Born on May 30,1954 in the city of Lohne (North Germany).
From Oct.1,1975 – July 26,1982 study of geology and drilling technology at the technical university of Clausthal-Zellerfeld (Masters degree).

Mudlogger on several wildcats in Denmark from Nov.79-May80.
1981 marine gelogy excursions in the North Sea with research vessel „GAUSS".
In Oct.82 I joined the just founded GEO-data company in Hannover, where I trained and formed a mudlogging team. By now GEO-data is the No.1-company in Germany.
In 1983 I married my wife Jutta and our daugther Hannah was born.
In Febr.86 I was hired by Mobil Oil Company in Germany where I started as teamleader of the wellsite operation group. We were dealing in the Sour/sweetgas enviroment of clastic and carbonatic rocks. My duties: Organizing the group (8 Mobil technicians and up to 25 contractor-geologists). Troubleshooting by picking casing point in sourgas and other critical situations. Core description and analysis, supervising logging and first log evaluation. Thin section analysis. Established new mud- and completion logs for well documentation and digital data transmission to our HQ (still in use). Working closely together with drilling department (Which bit,mud and direction??). Daily reporting and recommendations to our management.
In 1988 our son Moritz entered the family.
1996 I was moved into our reservoir management departement as project geologist.
I generated several successful sweet gas wells in the „Rotliegend"formation (Dunes) in depths of about 5000-5500 m TVD. Most challenging project: The „tight gas"-project: 1000-1500 m horizontal section in 5000 m TVD with 5-8 multiple fracs in low permeable (~0.1 md) sands – it works! Finally I calculated the volumetrics in North Germany on GIIP-basis to determine
Mobil`s share (Pool-key) in the pool. Our team then negotiated this key with the other 4 competitors.
I joined several Mobil-field trips (US, Canada, Caribbean and Europe) and the yearly OGCI-training in London.
According to decreasing drilling activity (end of exploration) and the Exxon-merger in year 2000 I moved to the land department (Due to my good communication and negotiation skills, as management mentioned). Part of this job is to negotiate with mineral-lease interest groups, where I can practise my geological background.

My Hobbies: Family,sailing, hunting, dancing, motorbiking, hiking, diving and skiing.
Sometimes I organize well excursions for interested groups.

Though life is comfortable with ExxonMobil I´m starting to miss my geology – and a professional team dealing with „real" geology.
The children are well done and start their own life. My wife and me are „free" again and open for new oportunties – whatever makes life interesting.
