Alstom Hydro India operation stared in late 90s with initially Sales and tendering and later BOP/CS activities at Delhi. In 2005 it was shift the Delhi unit (Plant and Service) to Baroda. In July 2005, the move was completed, making Baroda a full capacity unit with product engineering, Manufacturing, Plant engineering, Project Management and Sourcing.

Working as a System Leader – Control & Protection System and involved in the development of entire control system for hydro power plant control, monitor and maintenance.

Assigned as System Leader for CHUZACHEN hydro electric project located at Sikkim, India. This is a new hydro electric power plant of 2x55 MW generation capacities. Alstom has supplied the Electro-Mechanical Equipments for this project with Centralized Control System.

Project Detail
Assigned as System Engineer for JCP project located in Al-Jubail, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. This is a new petrochemical complex, an expansion of the adjacent existing Saudi Chevron Petrochemical (SCP) Aromex benzene & Cyclohexane complex and support facilities. This project detbottleneck the SCP complex and install new Ethylene, Ethyl benzene, Styrene Units adjacent to SCP Complex.
Yokogawa DCS (CS3000 R3.07, FIO VNETI/P with Foundation Field bus), SIS (Triconex Tricon 9 Triple Modular Redundant with Tristation 1131 interface) were to be engineered to achieve continuous monitoring and control of plant specific process.
Work Area
- Identification, Development and testing of typical for the total project.
- Running of Swift plus database for Various Units.
- Development of Complex, Logic, and Sequence controls for Ethylene Unit.
- Preparation Functional Design Specification for Ethylene Unit.
- Integration and logic development for the signals from subsystems with DCS.
- Co-ordinate with team members in setting up standards for the System Engineering.
- Conducted FAT for the Ethylene plant held at YHQ, Tokoyo, Japan in Aug-Sep, 2006.
- Post FAT recovery for the customer specification changes.
- IFAT for this Project is schedule to be conducted in Oct-Dec, 2006 at Huston, USA.
- I have generated the As-built Documents and submitted to customer for above project.

Previous Project:
1. Developed & commissioned the expansion of CENTUM-XL (Unix Based) system for communication with Honeywell Safety system. Application was developed for Eastern Petrochemical Company (SHARQ), Al-Jubail, Saudi Arabia. Project contains RS232 communication via EFGW and also addition of loops in the exiting control system for BMS, Air-Dryer and Demine Plant.
2. Logic and graphics development of gas Air-compressor stations for National Iranian Gas Company, Iran. Application design & FAT is done at Yokogawa Middle-East Ltd., Kingdom of Bahrain.
Kevin Technologies Pvt. Ltd., Ahmedabad
Duration: July 2003 to August - 2004
Position Held: Sr. Engineer – Automation
A sister company or CAD-Mech, Leader in Pharmaceuticals machine with specialist in Table Punching machine. Kevin provides automation solution for various type of pharmaceuticals machine, Develop the application for machine manufactures and also validation of various plants.
Key Responsibilities:
Working as a Sr. Engineer – Automation and involved in the development of application software for OEM. Documentation for ISO, Various Type of MMI screen development and validation of machines are also included in the responsibilities.
Key Achievements:
1. Fluid Bed Dryer & Coater Machine automation for Oman Pharmaceuticals Ltd., Salalh, Oman. System consists ABB 07KT9x processor with Remote I/O on CS31 network and Communication to ABB inverters on Modbus. Proface HMI is used for the machine operation. Recipe and alarm print out logic is also written and printout is taken from processor.
2. High Speed Tablet Pressing CTX Machine automation having AB Micrologix 1500 with NETDNI and Panelview 1000 on Device Net network is used for control. Recipe, Printing, tablet counting and particular tablet rejection logic has been introduced. Automation software has been developed to use at Red River Pharma, USA. This application has been used as standard software (with some modification) for CAD-MECH CTX machines which are supplied to the Middle East and African region.
Hi-Rel Electronics Pvt. Ltd., Gandhinagar
Duration: January 1998 to July – 2003
Position Held: Engineer – Engineering (Drives & Automation).
Hirel was the system integrator for Rockwell Automation, USA for automation product, application development centre for Vacon Inveters and self developed UPS manufacturing facility. The company was also dealing with Foxboro Small DCS.
Key Responsibilities:
Working as an Engineer – Engineering included developing designs for wiring of control panel, making standard logic and testing of various communication networks, getting them approved from the customer and introducing them in the production line. It also includes installation and commissioning at customer place. Service support is included in the responsibility. Actually for automation projects I am working in engineering, commissioning and service support.
Key Achievements:
1. Chips compounding Control for Bayer-ABS Ltd., Baroda. Control Net PLC network in redundant mode with redundant processor. Wonderware factory suite MMI is used for operation, monitoring and recording. 630 KW Drive control is done through PLC via MODBUS. Other devices are also connected on Modbus.
2. FDY & POY line Automation for Nova Petrochemicals Ltd., Ahmedabad System architecture have Foxboro Micro I/A DCS with Allenbraly Flex I/O (450 Nos.) Control for Extruder zone with Dryer, metering Pump and Quench having 32 PID loops. +/- 1 Deg C Temp control is achieved for fast acting temperature loop. Complete control through Foxview MMI also having facility for Alarm recording, History logging and report generation. Total 5 similar type of line are installed in 8 months of time period.
3. Foxboro Micro I/A DCS with Allenbradly Flex I/O (600 Nos.) is used for 12 MW steam turbine operation, monitoring and auxiliaries control. All points are monitored with historical logging and report generation with cumulative values of generation and consumption is made with special application package. The system was installed at J.K. Pulp & Paper Mill, Songadh – Surat.
4. Steam Power Scenario for Reliance Industries Ltd., Patalganga. Hardware consists Allenbradly PLC5 with Rsview in HOT redundant mode. All I/Os are also double redundant. It is used for power supply management for plant load and as well as export control to MHEB as per steam availability and generator running\trip status.
