Oil & Gas Industry:

Work Experience as Pressure Vessels API-510 Inspector

* Visual internal and external inspection of variety of pressure vessels including Towers, separators, heat exchangers, drums, line heaters, Furnaces, and boilers. The inspection work was performed at various refineries and Gas plants shutdown projects in Alberta and Saskatchewan (Canada). Some of renowned clients include Syncrude & Suncore oil sand projects, Shell Scottford Refinery, PetroCanada Edmonton Refinery, Imperial Oil Edmonton refinery, Imperial Oil Norman wells facilities, Conoco Phillips, Pangrowth. NAL, Atco gas, CNRL, Total energy and more.
* Worked as Auditor of the Pressure equipment integrity management program at Taqa (Prime west Energy). Responsibilities in this project include the assignment of inspection intervals based upon the corrosion pattern, recommendations and endorsement of corrective measures for various non conformances reported in the previous inspection reports. Further correction and build up in the available data base of Pressure equipment management system.
* Worked as plant inspector at Albian Sands (Shell oil-sands) Project in Fort McMurrey Alberta. Responsibilities include the supervision and inspection of the hydro heaters and other related equipment at the downstream end of facility.
* Supervision and quality control of various repairs and alteration works in the pressure vessels including the welding and inspection procedure writing.
* Visual inspection and QC of the structural steel fabrication for the Piping Modules, rig sub-structures, oil sand processing structures using CSA W-59 (Steel structure fabrication code).
* Supervision, implementation and performing in the corrosion survey programs. This includes the assignment of TMLs (thickness measuring locations) based upon the process sequence in the Vessels and piping.
* Supervision and implementation of the Non-destructive inspection in the vessels, piping and structural assemblies using the Ultrasonic Shear wave, magnetic Particles, Liquid penetrant, and radiographic techniques.
* Involved in the various advanced ultrasonic inspection projects using Phased Array, and Time of flight diffraction techniques. The projects worked include the inspection oil-sand mine hopper structure, new vessel manufacturing and big diameter pipelines.

Work Experience as above ground Storage tanks API-653 Inspector

* Visual internal/external inspection, settlement assessment, fixed and floating roofs inspection of various above ground storage tanks of capacities up to 50,000 bbl. Some of renowned clients include Imperial Oil, Enbridge Pipelines, Inter Pipeline Funds IPF, Plains marketing, CNRL, Conoco Phillips Total energy and more.
* Supervision and conduction of the automated and manual MFL (magnetic flux leakage) inspection for the underside floor corrosion.
* Supervision and quality control of various repairs and alteration works in the tank corroded floors, nozzle replacement and the shell repairs.
* Supervision and implementation of the Non-destructive inspection in the tank shell, floors, associated piping and structural assemblies using the Ultrasonic, magnetic Particles, Liquid penetrant, and radiographic techniques.
* Involved in the advanced ultrasonic inspection projects using Phased Array, and manual shear wave ultrasonic inspection on the new tank construction at Syncrude oil-sand project.

Work Experience as Process piping API-570 Inspector

* Worked as the piping inspector in the PetroCanada Edmonton refinery diesel plant. The responsibilities include classification of the piping circuits based upon the service, assignment of the TMLs, and inspection interval assignment.
* Visual external inspection, Ultrasonic corrosion/erosion survey on the piping at various refineries, gas plants and small lease sites in Alberta and Saskatchewan (Canada). Some of renowned clients include Syncrude & Suncore oil sand projects, Shell Scottford Refinery, PetroCanada Edmonton Refinery, Imperial Oil Edmonton refinery, Imperial Oil Norman wells facilities, Conoco Phillips, Pangrowth. * Inspection of static and dynamic parts of GE and Hitachi turbines using UT, LPI and MPI, in TransAlta, Epcore and Atco Power plants.
* Inspection of various parts of Generator with Ultrasonic, MPI and Fluorescent LPI.
* Ultrasonic and Magnetic Particles inspection of High Energy piping for fatigue and Creep cracking.
* Ultrasonic inspection of the boiler water wall tubes for thermal fatigue cracking.
* Inspection with UT, LPI, MPI and VT, of different parts in the process sequence of power generation such as boiler, draft fans, storage and pressure vessels, and flow lines on the shut down projects at TransAlta, Epcore, and Atco power plants.
* Ultrasonic Corrosion Survey in Various vessels, heat exchangers and High-Energy piping.
* Oxide deposit Thickness measurement at Re-heater and Super heater Elements of the power boilers at Trans Alta Utilities.
* Visual and Liquid Penetrant Inspection of hard metal (WSI) overlays on boiler water walls.
* Visual inspection of the power boilers in Trans Alta power plants.

Pulp/Paper and miscellaneous Industries

* Inspection with VT, UT, MPI and LPI, of different parts in the process sequence of Pulp mills such as power and recovery boiler, digester, draft fans, storage and pressure vessels, and flow lines on the shut down projects at Alpac, Weyerhaeuser, and Canfor Pulp and Paper Mills.
* Inspection of various casting components of different kinds of pumps.
* Inspection of bar stocks and sheet metal components for manufacturing defects.
* NDT of Crane, Pickers and maintenance Rigs for certification purposes.
Major Accomplishments in research and development (in Pakistan).

* Design and development of automated Immersion testing system for DU rods.
* Design and development of Ultrasonic inspection system for thick tubes at various fabrication stages.
