PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
U.S. Environmental Protection Agency: Chicago, Illinois
Petroleum Engineer: Underground Injection Control Branch
Responsible for the analysis and writing of Class I,II, III and Class V injection well permits. This involves knowledge of injection well design, construction and operation practices; including the plugging & abandonment to judge adequacy of wells and provide technical assistance. Have reviewed & witnessed in the field several radioactive tracer surveys, step-rate and standard annulus pressure tests on Class I wells. Analyze open & cased hole well logs, core samples, pressure transient data, radioactive tracer surveys, temperature logs, oxygen activation logs and other parameters to characterize subsurface geology, hydrology, and chemical situations of varying types and complexity. Received a cash award for efforts involved with the team that conducted a public hearing for a proposed Class I hazardous injection well. (2/01 - Present)

Answer telephone inquiries and correspondence, work paper inventories
on various types of taxes (including current, amended or delinquent returns). Respond to and follow through with action on calls regarding refunds, notices and payments. Rice Operating Company: Hobbs, New Mexico
Operations Engineer: Salt Water Disposal Operations
Managed 37 employees who operated 15 oil field saltwater disposal (SWD) systems, comprised of 35 injection wells, numerous tank batteries/pumps and miles of disposal lines. Ensured that all SWD systems remained in compliance with the Safe drinking water & Clean Water Act guidelines maintained by the New Mexico/Texas and federal agencies. Designed and implemented workover procedures/cost estimates for injection wells & systems needing repair or chemical treatment. Negotiated and obtained right-of-way and surface leases from land owners and State & Federal Agencies. Worked on a comprehensive program to identify and remediate naturally occurring radioactive materials (NORM) found in some of the SWD systems. (10/96 - 4/98)

Environmental Protection Agency: Dallas, Texas
Petroleum Engineer: Underground Injection Control Section
Responsible for the analysis and writing of Class II injection well permits. This involved knowledge of injection well design, construction and operation practices to judge adequacy of wells and provide technical assistance. Have ability to analyze well logs, core samples, well test data, and other parameters to characterize subsurface geology, hydrology, and chemical situations of varying types and complexity. Knowledge of groundwater monitoring techniques and field methods to conduct investigations involving the transport and fate of contaminants. Conducted on-site inspections of Class I, II and Class V facilities to verify compliance with applicable State and federal regulations. These inspections were coordinated with all applicable State, federal and Indian Agencies. (8/90 - 10/96)

Electronic Test Technician: Tested semiconductors to comply with dice lot certification for radiation hardened devices. Converted test data files to a computer graphics program. Insured that test programs met quality assurance verification criteria. (1987-1990)

Phillips Petroleum Company: Denver, Colorado & Oklahoma City, OK
Petroleum Engineer : Calculated recoveries/forecasts for development and exploratory oil and gas wells using all available data; geologic maps, well logs, test data, offsetting production, etc. Had the responsibility for economically evaluating most of these prospects (bid & sale properties also). This covered several hundred prospects in Colorado, Wyoming, Montana, New Mexico, Utah, North Dakota, Oklahoma, Texas and Alaska. Supervised and monitored quality control of open and cased hole logs. Monitored leases within my area of responsibility (Oklahoma, Texas & Kansas). Investigated marginal leases, suggested action. Designed and implemented completion & workover procedures. (1982-1986)

Summer Engineer: Prepared cost estimates to drill and complete oil and gas wells. Designed casing strings and surface equipment for some wells. Set-up drilling hydraulic programs. (1981)

Grace Petroleum Corporation: Watonga, Oklahoma
Summer Pumper/ Roustabout: Maintained individual oil and gas leases in Northern Oklahoma. This entailed gauging the oil tanks, servicing the pumping units, changing charts, updating records and ensuring the oil was sold each month. Also some roustabout work such as; repairing flow lines and starting and maintaining pumping units. (1980)

College - B.S. in Petroleum Engineering from the University of Oklahoma in 1981. Double Major; B.S. in Environmental Science & Chemistry from East Central State College, Ada, Oklahoma in 1977.
Industry schools - Well Log Analysis, Pressure Transient Analysis, Oil Property Evaluation, EPA Training - Inspector Training, Environmental Impact Assessment, Hazardous Materials/Emergency Response, Certified Compliance Officer Credentials, Groundwater/Hydrology School and Technical Writing.
