Supervising a team of 6+ engineers planning and supervising project managed wells for various operators. Woodside Energy September 2006 – January 2007 Drilling Project Manager Project manager for three additional Big Bore wells to spud Q4 2007 (up to 9,200m MD). The work scope includes installation of platform flowlines and rig upgrade / refurbishment (A$300 MM budget). Contract ended due to Woodside cost cutbacks. August 2005 – September 2006 Drilling Superintendent Supervised the planned and execution of three ERD 6500m MD, Big Bore (10 ¾" tubing) gas wells drilled from the North Rankin platform. These gas wells produce a total of 950MM scf/d plus 20k bpd condensate. Using new crews and dilapidated infrastructure the project was delivered with an excellent HSE record and within 5% of budget. BG Group January 2004 – July 2005 Drilling Superintendent Prepared all the planning work for two CNS Triassic subsea wells (exploration and appraisal) including tendering and awarding contracts, basis of design, AFE preparation, preparing government submissions and ordering long lead items from a semi submersible. Changed base case design concept reducing AFE by £3 million. Planned two Jurassic (one HPHT) and one Palaeocene subsea exploration wells plus a subsea intervention / completion for 2005. Shell Expro August 2004 – December 2004 Senior Drilling Engineer Planned and supervised a workover programme on Shell's top producer in the North Sea. The work involved fishing operations on a damaged and plugged above the release mechanism Dual Completion, recovering the completion and replacing same. Chevron Texaco October 2002 – August 2003 Drilling Superintendent / Senior Drilling Engineer Prepared all government documents for subsea intervention on Galley and Strathspey Fields. Prepared AFE and awarded contracts. Assisted with planning 22,000 feet subsea well on Britannia field. Performing F.E.E.D. studies for Strathspey and Galley E.R.D. sidetracks / multi lateral / expandable liners / in-fill drilling. Enterprise Oil March 2001 – September 2002 Drilling Superintendent / Senior Drilling Engineer Planned and supervised drilling operations (five wells) on the Nelson platform. Supervised the start up of drilling, preparing the rig and installation of a CRI unit. Prepared and submitted documents to the government, programmes and risk assessments to the HSE Well Examiner. Texaco Petroleum March 2000 – February 2001 Senior Drilling Engineer Deep water exploration well on the Sovereign Explorer on West of Shetland well. Deputy Well Examiner. Produced a report on the best options for in-fill drilling on the Strathspey subsea field. Partner Representative for the Jade HPHT development. Saga Petroleum, Stavanger July 1999 – December 1999 Senior Drilling Engineer Produced a risk/hazard assessment for a proposed HPHT subsea horizontal 12 well Haltenbanken South development (Kristen). Initiated contingency planning to deal with identified hazards. BP August 1997 – July 1999 Senior Drilling Engineer Analysed past performance, re-designed and planned ETAP Marnock wells. Marnock was an HPHT horizontal gas development with sandscreen completions. Well costs reduced after re-design from £44 million to £18 million and productivity increased. Halliburton Integrated Solutions September 1996 – August 1997 Drilling Advisor Operational support to the Shell Curlew subsea development project. Curlew was planned as the first subsea multi-lateral development. Prepared contract tenders. Kerr McGee Oil UK Plc April 1995 – September 1996 Senior Drilling Engineer Planned Kerr McGee's first exploration HPHT project in the North Sea. Prepared and submitted to the HSE: casing design, PON4, PON13, HPHT well control supplement and drilling programme. Reduced well cost from £25 million to £10 million compared with closest offset well in same block.
