Responsible for all technical queries from General Contractors, worked with system turnover procedures, reporting mechanisms, walk-downs, squad checks etc, etc…. 6 direct report field engineers.

Position: Construction Engineer/Construction Coordinator,

Extraction Site: Lead Field Engineer for the construction of a new extraction plant at Suncor. Also responsible for numerous smaller projects in this area as well as participating in constructability and feasibility reviews for the new projects. Working with subcontractors and engineering consultants to resolve all issues and system turnovers.

Oilsand Site- U & O: Lead Civil/Structural Field Engineer for the Utilities and Offsites expansion at Suncor refinery. Responsible for quality assurance and technical matters with all earthworks, piling, foundations, structural steel and buildings related to U & O. Working closely with both Construction Management, subcontractors and design consultants to complete the work safely and provide a quality product. 18 months on this project.

Firebag Site: Given the task of Turnover Manager for the Firebag Stage II Project, a 35,000 barrel per day SAGD developement. Wrote and executed turnover procedures to suit the project resources and staffing plans. Also functioned as the Civil/Structural Field Engr/Construction Coordinator for the 260 kV substation and transmission line project at the Oilsands Site, formulating and managing budgets, scopes of work and directing subcontractors, as well as all quality and safety issues associated with the work. 8 months at this project.

Responsible for quality control of concrete foundations, modular/stickbuilt structural steel, earthworks, sitegrading and tank farm liner installation. Supervised four other Civil Field Engineers.

Millenium Project – Oil Sands Refinery Construction
Suncor Energy - Fort McMurray, Alberta, Canada
Working on a $350 million dollar Delayed Coker Unit(Plant 52) at Suncor Project Millennium as the lead Civil/Structural Field Engineer. Responsible for quality control of all concrete works, granular backfill, drilled piling, structural steel, underground and utility piping, vessel and pump foundation installation and all buildings and architectural work. Accountable for all documentation, permanent plant materials, Non-Conformance Report's, Request For Information, Change Orders and drawing interpretation with respect to constructibility. In addition to the above responsibilities I supported the project through construction supervision of the associated crafts and coordination of sub-contractors on an as needed basis.
