PROFESSIONAL CAREER:
Ozer Balkas is a business / market oriented petroleum geologist, and has a long and excellent employment record in the oil and gas company management. He has specialized in a diversified spectrum of both exploration business and management while maintaining the highest ethical and strict professional industry standarts.
He performed / contributed / managed numerous and extensive geological & geophysical studies from the planning and budgeting phases through the acquisition, processing, and evaluation stages up to the final decision or judgement. He has represented Turkish Petroleum Corporation (TPAO) in various multilateral and international business relations for years at the highest level of responsibility, and also taken part in appraisal of investment projects and many negotiations with international oil and gas companies from different continents to carry out joint company establishments, joint exploration and development, a variety of joint operations, and production sharing agreements both in Turkey and abroad.
Mr. Balkas has acquired the greatest part of his consultancy and coordination practice from his long tenure and important liabilities in the administrative and advisory groups / departments as well as his managerial positions in the Exploration and International Projects Groups of TPAO.
