Senior Process Engineer at Oil and Gas separation, Gas Compression & dehydration and Water injection plant ICP Mumbai high offshore south ONGC India.

Mumbai High field is situated at 145 Km to North West of Bombay, in the Arabian Sea. It is the largest offshore oil field discovered in India. From the Mumbai High field around 2,50,000 bopd is produced and the associated gas produced is used for artificial lift and for consumers through a trunk line.

ICP Process Platform (Infill Complex) has three bridge connected processing platforms for oil processing, gas processing, water injection and 20 well platforms consisting of a total of 162 wells producing about 70000 BOPD and 1.8 million cu.m of gas per day. All the major equipment as well as instrumentation and control are most modern and state of the art (automatic control, programmable logic and control, microprocessor based control etc.). Process platform received ISO-14001 & DNV certification for Environment Management System (EMS).

Work Profile:

To produce optimal amount of hydrocarbon that meet the approved daily targets (production & flaring targets.)
Manage a workforce to focus on core activities and ensure timely and safe response to any unscheduled shutdown.
Provide guidance on troubleshooting.
Responsible for the optimization of process and quality of oil and gas processed and water injected.
Ensure operating procedures and P&ID are updated.
Develop and update isolation procedures.
Start up and commissioning.
To maximise the utilisation of facilities and resources in order to minimise production cost.
Collection and analysis of field data and reporting to base.
Providing technical inputs for process improvement.
Participate in HAZOP studies.
Ensure the availability of material and logistic to facilitate smooth and efficient operations.
To ensure the implementation of HSE plan in order to achieve highest HSE performance for field-wide operations.
Creation of safe operating systems and procedures.
Planning for routine process maintenance activities as wells as planned shutdown for surface facilities modification and breakdown jobs.
Planning and execution of turnaround activities.
Working towards achieving zero flaring.
Coordination with other departments.
Supervision of contractual jobs for revamping and up-gradation of equipments/facilities and monitoring schedules and progress of these jobs.

Previous Assignments: September 1999 to November 2003

Worked as Wellhead Operations Engineer at ICP off-shore installation of ONGC
- The ICP in Bombay High field has 19 unmanned and 1 bridge connected well platform. Each unmanned platform is a satellite well production platform which is comparatively small & unmanned and would typically include 6 to 12 oil wells with or without water injections wells, 3 phase test separator for well testing, control panel for well control, gas lift and measurement facilities, fire detection and suppression systems, a crane for material handling and a generator. Well fluid from the unmanned well platforms flows to process platform through a subsea pipeline.

Work Profile:

Continuous monitoring of wells by regular testing and analyzing the causes of downtrend.
Online monitoring of the producing wells through SCADA and use of SCADA for maintaining the optimized state of Gas lift in each and every well.
Troubleshooting of wellhead problems, well opening in the event of closure and normalizing platform shutdown
Gas-lift trouble shooting and Gas Lift Optimization using Software like PROSPER, PIPESIM.
Operation and Maintenance of all the surface production facilities of the well platforms.
Start up and commissioning of well platforms.
Surface hook up of newly drilled wells using temporary lines and later installing permanent flow lines and gas lift lines.
Elimination of loss of production due to shutdown by scheduling regular maintenance of instrumentation, servo and well control systems of unmanned platforms.
Maintain water injection in the field by regular monitoring the injection rates in individual wells, monitoring and maintaining injection water quality at the wellhead end by periodical pigging and flushing of injection lines.
Periodical pigging of well fluid lines from all the unmanned platforms to the process platform.
Monitoring and diagnosing sustained casing pressures of all wells.
Coordination with Workover/Stimulation department, Wireline teams, Reservoir team and vessels/barges for all the activities ongoing at unmanned platform.
Supervision of contractual jobs for revamping and up-gradation of equipments/facilities and monitoring schedules and progress of these jobs
Preparation of well test reports.

Was a member of commissioning team for New 16 slot Well Platform ZA in 2002.
Involved in process platform inlet separators revamping project in 2005
Involved in Zero Flaring Project and recommissioning of LP Booster Compressor in 2005.
Involved in the New well platforms (9WPP) and Pipelines (RSPPM-Redevelopment South Pipeline and Platform Modifications) Projects under MH, South Redevelopment
