* Report directly to the Director of Fire & Emergency Services-Afghanistan.
* In the absence of the Director, frequently directs all department operations.
* Manage four geographically separated offices and personnel at Bagram Airfield and Kabul, Afghanistan.
* Directs the day to day operations of the fire prevention, inspection, public education, and investigation programs for the Fire Department to ensure that the applicable fire codes and ordinances are enforced for the protection of property owners and the public.
* Manage and supervise fire extinguisher maintenance shop and technicians.
* During routine emergency responses, has the responsibility for assigning and supervising employees, where quick and sound decisions must be made, and where improper assignment, decision, or action could result in serious risk of physical harm to self and co-workers, harm to other individuals, costly damage to equipment, increased property loss, legal liabilities and costs, or detrimental public relations.
* Responsible for the fire prevention programs of fourteen U.S. and Coalition Forward Operating Bases within Afghanistan.
* Prepared department annual budget covering fire prevention, inspection, public education, investigation, and extinguisher maintenance functions
* Review construction and modification plans, conferred with engineers, and provided technical/functional assistance on fire prevention and building design criteria.
* Supervised inspections of 1000+ facilities on routine basis to assure compliance with applicable codes and ordinances.

* Responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating a comprehensive inspection program 1000+ facilities on routine basis to detect and eliminate hazards in high fire expectancy areas.
* Responsible for the logistical movement and tracking of approximately $5m of government property through Bagram, Afghanistan to Salerno, Afghanistan via ground and air.
