OBJECTIVE

I am a time served refractory mason, with 40 years experience in refractory/furnace construction worldwide. My strengths are in the field, planning, training,build, and quality control, with the ability to communicate, and promote teamwork.

Duties:
Taking pots offline for demolition. Survey, re-build and put back on line. Various times between 2002 and present.

Employed as Refractory Mason for most of the major glass furnace construction companies.
Employed as site Supervisor on Thermal Oxidiser contract for I.C.I. Taiwan.
Also employed as mason on Thermal Oxidisers on various sites throughout UK and Europe.

EXPERIENCE
ALUMINIUM
Was directly involved in the installation, rebuilding and refurbishment of smelting and holding plants at major aluminium worldwide incl. DUBAL (Dubai), ALBA (Bahrain), VALCO (Ghana), ALCAN (Britain, Europe and Nigeria). Duties incl. Recruitment and control of local labour, building of units (on tools), setting up and running training programmes for masons at VALCO, DUBAL,and ALUAR.
COPPER
Main contract while running own business was to supply complete refractory service to I.M.I. Copper refinery was responsible for design to anode casting furnace, as well as all rebuilt and repair to converters, reverbs, blasts anode casters.
HEAT TREATMENT
Extensive background in this industry, Sealed Quench, Cyclic Anealers. Carburisers Tempering Furnaces. Installed and rebuilt many of these units with own company mostly at British car manufacturing plants.
STEEL
As well as serving apprenticeship with British Steel, have also been involved on many installations of walking beam type re-heaters and soaking pits as Superintendent/Site Manager.
OTHER INFO
Industrial waste, sewage, refuge incinerators (Foreman) ABU DHABI National Oil Company (Site Manager) for new installation of primary and secondary heaters on Ammonia Plants, AKZO, Holland (Foreman) also for installation of primary and secondary heaters.
