N.A. SUBSURFACE - SENIOR GEOSCIENTIST – SUBSURFACE EVALUATION MANAGER, 2004 – 2008
HALLIBURTON CONSULTING - N.A. SUBSURFACE EVALUATION
Successfully managed and executed on several projects for Halliburton's subsurface evaluation consulting business. Responsibilities included technical evaluation of new projects and deliverable design, geologic evaluation of well log data, production of structure, net sand and pay maps, cross-sections, and well placement activities on projects. In addition project managed the projects via client communication plans, monthly forecasting (revenue & resources), and cost management. Took best practices from consulting work and have made several presentations at both AAPG and SEG. Worked closely with the production, drilling, and completion teams to identify subsurface hazards critical to the successful drilling of wells. Made technical/sales presentations to perspective clients on our consulting service capabilities. Responsible for the identification, screening, and hiring of key talent resources.
As Sr. Geologists for the Subsurface evaluation team the daily activities included:
* Collaboration across GG&E, production and reservoir engineering and drilling and completions teams
* Maturation of development and exploitation opportunities
* Prospect generation using integrated seismic (2D/3D), petrophysical well data and production data

Additional responsibilities included project management, facilitating the technical design of our projects, writing project scoping documents, creating delivery timelines, assigning resources to the project, and tracking project financials.

INDEPENDENT – NEW ORLEANS
Moved from Boston to reenter the oil and & gas business as an Independent consultant to Dominion Oil in New Orleans. Worked with the development GG&E staff to develop technical evaluations related to development activities for their offshore deep water leases. The activities were supported using applications such as Landmark's SeisWorks, StratWorks, GeoProbe, Z-map, and various utilities such as RAVE, PostStack/PAL. In addition participated on a team using Petrel as the reservoir modeling tool supplying geologic information to the model. Worked on the GG&E team identifying prospect locations and determining risk levels new well locations. Presented findings to senior asset managers, and regional general manager.
Selected accomplishments:
* Identified and presented supporting documentation for a new play (Channel sand Play) west of current production. Used GeoProbe and seismic amplitude analysis to support the concept.
* This drove the uptake of Landmark's GeoProbe software into the development teams for the Devil's Tower project including integration of geologic and geophysical..
* Used Landmark and third party programs to identify and develop opportunities for the DT project. Developed depth models to support the geology in the area and tied well log analysis back into 3D seismic coverage. Identified internal baffles or compartmentalization in reservoir explaining production anomalies.
SENIOR MANAGER IBM LOTUS DISTANCE LEARNING – 1999 – 2002
IBM CORPORATION, Cambridge, MA
Provided comprehensive financial, project, customer, and departmental management for the development of product and service offerings, managing up to three concurrent projects ranging from $500K to $3.2M in revenue. Participated in sales presentations as representative from the enterprise knowledge management team, working in collaboration with regional staff and account executives. Directed the end-to-end project development process; created project scope documents, testing schema's using Rational tool set, development plans, and assembled and managed the software development teams of 5-10 personnel. Utilized six-stem IBM software development method to lead development efforts; tracked and managed all financial aspects; and liaised with clients throughout the process to align development with business needs. SUBSURFACE GEOSCIENTIST, 1981 - 1989
TEXACO, New Orleans, LA
Hired into Getty oil out of school and worked exploration for both onshore and shelf areas of Louisiana and the Gulf of Mexico. Getty was bought by Texaco in 1986 and I continued to work onshore properties as a seismic and geologic interpreter. Worked a new play concept for onshore Louisiana that focused on the Eocene/Oligocene Wilcox and Tuscaloosa trends. Identified new well locations and carried thru to field operations and drilling. Performed field development (mud logging, openhole logging, perforation identification) worked in Vermilion, Terrebonne and the Florida Parishes, LA,. Promoted to the offshore exploration team at Texaco working the High Island East and High Island South extension areas where I was responsible for identifying a deep down dip structure/amplitude play in the High Island south area. The play was supported by integrating seismic attributes, well and paleo data. Other ongoing activities included the development of farmout material, farmout presentations to potential partners for areas in South LA and Eastern Florida Parishes, and farmin evaluations for the company.
