Duties and Responsibilities:
* Reporting directly to the Operations Manager. Supervises all operation and maintenance activities of Diesel Power Barges in conjunction with safe, efficient and reliable generation and supply of electrical power.
* Directs and developed technicians in practicing Standard Operating Procedures, safety precautions and cost saving measures to ensure safe and efficient operation of the plant.
* Reviews, analyzes and check all plant operating parameters through log sheets, computer trending and other reports that reflect performance of the equipment to ensure optimum operating condition.
* Improved implementation of Preventive Maintenance program (Mechanical/Electrical) for all engines and auxiliaries in order to; reduce the frequency and severity of interruptions, extend the useful life of the machines and increase operating efficiency of the plant.
* Perform Corrective Maintenance (repairs); Identifies causes and extent of malfunction or breakdown and prescribe; repair procedures that may resolve the problem diagnosed, and preventive measures to avoid recurrence of the problem.
* Supervises Power Plant Technicians (Mechanical/Electrical) in the various repair programs consisting of efforts to restore the facilities and equipment to an acceptable operating condition after a minor or moderate breakdown has occurred.
* Recommends changes and improvements in the Preventive Maintenance programs, when necessary, to adapt to prevailing demands in production quality and conditions.
* Ensures safety of plant personnel and safe working condition through the following activities, housekeeping, regular inspection of fire extinguishers and hydrants, monthly fire drill exercise, and weekly testing of fire pumps and blackstart generator.

POWER PLANT TECHNICIAN (Control Room Operator)

Duties and Responsibilities:
* Starting, loading & shutdown 57MW Diesel Power Barge (6x5.7MW & 6x3.8MW Wartsila DG sets and its auxiliaries) through computer with the assistance of ERO to check engine actual condition as per dispatched schedule provided by the outside costumer, or as per advised by shift superintendent on duty.
* Conduct hourly reading and recording on all engine parameters in computer through log sheets and records in logbook all the activities done during the shift.
* Provides communication with support group regarding the receiving of fuel oil, lube oil & water as well as disposal of sludge, waste lube oil & oily water and directs ERO regarding the matter.
* Directs ERO for extra activities needed for plant smooth operation.
* Take note and relay to the shift superintendent on duty all activities performed and abnormalities found by ERO with abnormalities found on the computer monitors and control panels.
* Prepares daily highlights (summary of engines' performance, gross generation, heat rate, lube oil rate and all activities performed on the engines).
* Maintains and balances the 4 barges' load as per requirement by Meralco. Total Capacity: Barge1-60MW; BargeII-60MW; BargeIII-55MW; BargeIV-45MW.
* Responsible in receiving and transmitting all communication (internal / external) which regards in operation concern.

POWER PLANT TECHNICIAN (Engine Room Operator)

Duties and Responsibilities:
* Operates, maintains and monitors a 57MW Diesel Power Barge (6x5.7MW & 6x3.8MW Wartsila DG sets and its auxiliaries) to achieve a safe, efficient and continuous operation.
* Operates the following auxiliaries according to the standard operating procedures and conducts hourly routine inspection to ensure that all running units are within normal operating limits:
* Conducts hourly reading on all operating equipment-monitoring devices such as thermometers, pressure gauges and level indicators through log sheets to ensure that all parameters are within recommended operating limits.
* Report to the shift superintendent any detected deviation or abnormality that arises for immediate corrective measure/s to prevent unscheduled shutdown or power losses.
* Conducts regular inspection on all lubricating oil levels such as engine crankcase, generator bearings, turbochargers, governors, separator gear case, compressor crankcase, seawater pumps, and top-up if necessary to avoid damages caused by lack of lubrication.
* Prepares the engine for starting or stopping and also its related auxiliaries as directed by Shift Superintendent in accordance with the standard operating procedures.
* Conducts turbocharger compressor & turbine washing, exhaust gas boiler soot blowing at regular intervals to attain engine optimum performance.
* Initiates necessary action in case of emergencies and reports the incident to the Shift Superintendent. Immediately.
* Perform regular monitoring of storage tank level such as heavy fuel oil day tank, settling tank, lube oil tank, potable & distilled water tank to insure sufficient stock for plant's continuous operation requirements
* Conducts regular monitoring of sludge and waste oil tank to avoid overflowing/oil spill and coordinate for proper disposal
* Perform other duties such as maintenance work as directed by shift superintendent.
