SELECTED HIGHLIGHTS AND ACCOMPLISHMENTS:

* Engineered and directed implementation of test apparatuses for feasibility testing of various high-pressure, catalytic petroleum upgrading processes. Managed projects up to $100K value.

* Assisted in process design for revamp of hydrocracker and hydrotreater units in Delaware refinery. Construction was successfully fast-tracked into a six-week turnaround.

* Developed full-scale design of Supercritical Water Oxidation unit from analysis of pilot plant studies. Provided cost-effective design with high reliability for destruction of chemical weapons for US Army. Gave public presentation of technology to DOD technology auditors. Handled on-the-spot questions & answers. Assisted in project management of $0.5 million budget. Supervised 2-3 engineers.

* Prepared written study for hazardous waste minimization and waste tank closure plans in US Army installations. Areas of study included maintenance depot activity and explosives manufacture.

* Provided orientation presentation to non-technical persons at a U.S. Army facility. Purpose was to complete a written survey of wastewater discharges. Clarity of presentation minimized telephone calls to on-site information hotline and minimized high-cost field verification labor.

* Assembled computerized database of wastewater discharges for a US government installation. Data compiled from written questionnaires and from field verification activities covering over 200 buildings.

* Prepared written technical proposals for hydrogen plants in oil refineries. Proposed plant costs ranged in size from $15 million to $100 million. Supported proposals for both basic engineering and lump sum construction.

* Analyze hydrogen production options for oil refinery expansion. Provided written study with various production/recovery options along with cost estimate. This resulted in a successful business plan that also gave our group managerial control of operation.

* Provided startup assistance to $50-80 million hydrogen plants in Turkey and Mexico. Field tasks included rewriting operating instructions at startup, due to vendor requirements. Required some construction modifications and additional operator manpower, but unit was started successfully within schedule.

* Designed utility systems for $375 million pharmaceutical pilot plant. Facilities included Syltherm circulation, cooling water, breathing air, condensate collection, water boosting facilities, chilled water distribution. Assisted in compilation of piping line list comprised of 7000 lines shown on 400 P&IDs. Participated in HAZOP studies of facility.

* Front-end designs of amine regeneration and sour water stripping units. Prepared basis of design, licensor technical proposal evaluations, and reviewed licensor front-end designs on Claus sulfur recovery and liquid sulfur pelletizing units for middle-East refinery.

* Pressure safety valve sizing for batch reactors, storage tanks and refinery process units. Flare header sizing calculations.
