EXPERIENCE BACKGROUND

About 17 years been in the Oil and Gas Construction Industry for upstream and down stream works. Involved in erection, fabrication and testing of steel structural, piping (carbon steel and low alloy steel), pressure vessel, gas and oil pipeline, offshore laybarge, offshore platform upgrading work and new refinery plants.
Build up the career starting with Training QC Inspector for Structural, NDT and Piping works. Lately for the past 4 years been as General Inspector post for Petronas Carigali, Exxonmobil (EMDC), Reliance Industries of India and Murphy Oil of Malaysia. Mainly work scope are inspection, installation and erection, monitoring for steel structure/piping fabrication of topsides modules and jackets, refinery plants, vessel, pipelines, FSO and subsea structure, piping and pipelines.
Work Site – AY Engineering, Promet Fabricator, Sime Sembcorp Engineering and Malaysia Shipyard and Engineering all are located at Johore state. The other location were at Naval Dockyard and KHL Engineering at Lumut Perak, Geahin Engineering at Malacca, Kerteh Oil and Gas Terminal at Kerteh Terengganu, GPP 5 and 6 at Kerteh Terengganu, TNB Power Station at Kapar Selangor and LNG 1 at Bintulu Sarawak.
As a General Inspector, the work scope are depending on service contracts.
Scope of work briefly:
* Witnessed Welding Procedure Qualification Test and welder qualification test.
* Experience in welding inspection on piping materials such as Stainless Steel L316 and 304, Chrome-Moly and Incoloy.
* Reviewed all procedures including welding and NDT procedures.
* Able to read ISO, P&ID and GA drawings.
* Perform site quality activities in accordance with Project quality Plan.
* Work with QA/QC Lead to address Project Inspection requirements.
* Implement quality surveillance and inspection activities at construction site both for structure and piping.
* Undertake stage inspection and monitor production process for structure and piping.
* Review contractors and suppliers completion files for accuracy and adequacy.
* Attend and contribute to site and project technical meeting as necessary.
* Ensure materials (structure and piping) supplied meet the requirements of the project specifications.
* Follow the safety rules and practices and assist the site team in promoting site safety.
* Review factory acceptance test and on final quality check prior to shipment.
* Monitor and appraise suppliers and contractors Quality Assurance and Quality control activities.
* Provide early warning of potential quality problems.
* Set up personnel's for site team.
* Set up project QC work execution plan.
* Coordinate daily inspection activities for various discipline.
* Site QC surveillance during construction activity for quality control compliance verification.
Documents Review
Review the project documents such as Project Quality Plan (PQP), Inspection and Test Plan (ITP), QA documents procedure such as NDT procedures, welding procedures, welding consumables control, mechanical test, record of welder performance, IFC and as built drawings, flushing, hydrotest, reinstatement procedures, distortion control procedure, Arc burn control procedure and etc.

Management Involvement
Participated in weekly QA/QC meeting, monitor of NCRs and follow up the close out, keep the QC matters update to QA/QC Lead, give the QC input for progress report and update. Participated in Company/contractor internal audit programmed and problem solving on QC matters.

Code and Standard
Familiar with AWS D1.1, ASME 1X and V, API RP2X, API RP2W/2Z, API 1104 and ANSI B31.3.

Appointed as Senior Fabrication Inspector seconded to Murphy Sabah Oil Co.

Work Scope
Reports to Company Site Representative for job progress updating.
Close monitoring on construction and NDT progress base on client and project procedures.
Familiarize with applicable Codes, Standards and Client Specification and also reviewed the approved drawing for the project.
Monitor the QC matter accordingly as per ITP/PQP.
Close monitoring on construction progress structure and piping duplex stainless steel base on client and project procedures.
Coordinate work of the site inspectors.
Issuance of CAR/NCR and follow-up until close-up.
Keep CSR updated with actions and quality issues.
Highlight the issue on upfront stage.
Reviewed all welding certificates including WPS, PQR and welder certificates and also all welding equipments calibration certificates such as welding machine, backing and holding oven and also the PWHT machine.
Carried-out material receiving inspection both structure and piping duplex stainless steel (checked size, type and condition of the materials) and make sure received a copy of genuine Mill Certificates.
Checked the consumables size, type and condition. Incase Basic Electrodes make sure the electrodes were baked as per manufacture recommended. And also check batch certificate for TIG filler wire.
Monitor and carried-out fit-up inspection both structure and piping duplex stainless steel.
Monitor the pre-heating and checked the pre-heat temperature prior welding.
Checked the welding position, weaving size and welding parameter such as current, voltage and travel speed as per approved WPS both structure and piping stainless steel. For piping duplex stainless steel need to check also purging gas.
Checked the consumables and filler wire condition and storage.
Checked the inter pass temperature and make sure the inter pass temperature as per recommended WPS.
Checked safety during welding.
Monitored construction punchlist and line check, outstanding work to carry over and monitor close up.
Checked the cleanliness of the joints must free from spatter, oil or grease and checked the welder and joint identification prior to visual inspection and NDT.
Carried-out visual inspection on both structure and piping, witnessed NDT activities and reviewed RT films.
Monitor compiling of final documentations.

May2007 – Feb2008 Fabrication of Reliance KG-D6 Subsea Structure and Piping for Reliance Industries of India at KHL yard, Lumut, Malaysia.
Appointed as NDT/Welding Inspector seconded to Bechtel PMC as a representative to Reliance Industries of India.

2006 –2007 Installation of Sumandak B Pipeline.
Baram pipeline replacement (Baram-A to Baram-G)
10km offshore pipeline replacement from MCOT to West Lutong platform at Sarawak Water Malaysia.
Installation of Sumandak-A platform and 10 km offshore pipe laying at Labuan, Malaysia.
Installation of Abu Cluster A jacket, topside and for Petronas Carigali Sdn. Bhd (Abu Cluster Project) at Terengganu water, Malaysia.
