Fort Energy, Penn West Petroleum, Trident Exploration, EOG Resources Canada
Drill multilateral horizontal wells for the coal bed methane (CBM). Drill, case & cement 311mm HZ build sections (13-1400m). Run Command Fishing Retrievable Whipstocks (one trip system) and Weatherford Quick Cut Retrievable Whipstocks, mill window and drill 159mm HZ Production zones from 2500-3000m, usually four legs per well. Drill horizontal wells for the production of heavy oil. Drill 159mm single leg horizontal oil zone (3000m). Drill case and cement +/- 1200m vertical gas wells.
* Reduced costs significantly on drilled wells by streamlining operations and increasing productivity; suggested pumping high viscosity sweeps every 200m which resulted in less well bore problems.
* Used multi lateral horizontal drilling techniques as part of the only proven economical producing CBM Gas Project in Canada.
* Received numerous safety achievement awards for promoting safe & efficient work in a team environment.
ASSISTANT RIG MANAGER 9/2004 – 6/2005
Noble Drilling
Served as an Assistant Rig Manager on a Baker Marine Jack Up, with an operating depth of 250'. Drilled approximately 11,000' exploration HZ wells for Bunduq Petroleum using Polymer Mud System with a cuttings injection well. Performed NaCl stimulations.
* Used excellent interpersonal communication skills while working with inexperienced workers in the Middle East to organize the team to successfully drill exploration wells.
* Effectively used good decision making skills to successfully drill a 1 meter thick extended reach oil sand.
NIGHT DRILLING FOREMAN / TOOLPUSHER 2000 – 2004
Global Santa Fe International
Employed as a Toolpusher on Baker Marine Jack Up Parameswara, with an operating depth of 300'. Drilled 14,000 – 15,000' HZ Oil wells in the delta off the Borneo Coast near Balikpapan using Polymer Mud Systems. As a night foreman, drilled 10,000 -13,000' Directional Oil wells for British Petroleum Contract West of Maracaibo along the Columbian Border using Oil Base Mud Systems. Additionally, as a Night Drilling Foreman, drilled HZ Heavy oil wells with a mother bore and multiple open hole side track legs off of that, running a slotted liner down the mother bore using a Oil Base Mud System.
* Helped company achieve a 10 year safety milestone.
* To combat the challenge of working in different countries with numerous foreign languages, used perseverance and determination to learn key words and phrases to successfully complete operations.
* Used strong time management skills to complete contracts on time while toolpusing on offshore jackups whare there were strict time constraints due to expensive day rates.
