Project Experience

* BANTREL CO. CALGARY

a) Project: Suncor Voyager, Utilities (April 2008 till date)
I completed Structural Designing of 2 sectors of main Utility Piperacks using Tekla, it was 2 x 20' wide & 60' long and 50' high having 1 piping module (4 level piping) resting on Stick built & 1 electrical module at top.
I have been involved in checking the entire foundation design for Utility Piperacks for 60 % model review stress information,
I am involved in Structural Design of foundations for Evaporator & Crystallizer unit which include 25 m high crystallizer Unit foundation resting on piles.

b)Project: Shell Scotford A& V Unit (Dec 2006 to April 2008)
I had designed foundations & superstructure for process structures and equipment foundations. I have completed engineering check of process structures. I also completed review of connection design supplied by Fabricator.

Following is a list of Structures/ Equipment I designed:

1) Structure "M":- A two level process structure with dimensions 18 x 6.5 x 8 meters high and containing one module and stick built steel. The structure was analysed & designed using Sframe. Loadings were calculated according to NBCC 95 and the project specifications. Structural design was completed according to CSA S16-94 and CSA A23.3-94.

2) Structure "N":- A 4 level process structure with dimensions 12 x 6.0 x 17 meters high and containing two modules and stick built steel. The structure was analysed & designed using Sframe. Loadings were calculated according to NBCC 95 and the project specifications. Structural design was completed according to CSA S16-94 and CSA A23.3-94.

3) V-41188:- An oily water sump with dimensions 10 x 7.5 x 6 meters deep below ground. Sump also included a steel roof for access. The sump was analysed & designed using finite element method using Sframe. Structural design was completed according to ACI-350.

4) V-41136:- A foundation for Vertical column 90 m high. Foundation size 10x10 m. The Structural design of foundation was performed by FEM.

-Preparation of basic design, selection of foundation by soil investigation report, preparation of design calculation, taking municipality approval for building permit.
-Prepared GA & RC detail drawings for main building, transformer bay, auxiliary transformer bay, cable & pipe trenches, capacitor banks and boundary wall.
-Attended technical co-ordination meetings with client (ADWEA) & consultant.

* BALLAST NEDAM INTERNATIONAL BV, India

Company Profile: The Company is an EPC Contractor, head office in Netherlands. It was a consortium with IHI, Japan & Toyo Engg. India Ltd.for the LNG Terminal.
Project:Project consists of an LNG Jetty 2.2 km long trestle (1.8 km offshore) & Loading platform, Mooring Dolphin, Breasting Dolphin & walkways and Substations.
Position held:Engineer – Field Engineer Civil/Structural
My job responsibility included designing permanent & temporary engineering structures & preparation of calculations for the same, which included jetty sub-station, walkways & their supports & platforms etc. Checking of drawings and calculations of temporary structures made by sub-contractor.
