WORK EXPERIENCE

A) SHUAIBAH IWPP (KSA) ( SIEMENS CONSORTIUM)
April 2008–Till
Shuaibah, - Saudi Arabia - Western Province

Joined as Shift Charge Engineer and presently involved in the commissioning of 3 X 400MW Siemens Power units and Doosan's desalination plant of capacity 882,000m3/day (12 lines) which is going to be the world's largest desalination plant after the commissioning in the forth July2009.

B) SALINE WATER CONVERSION CRPORATION: January 1994 – March 2008
Alkhobar, - Saudi Arabia - Eastern Province

Joined in 1994 and worked in S W C C as shift in charge (operation) of 5x 151 MW Siemens/kwu turbine generators. thermal operation of Babcock &Wilcox boilers of 5x690 t/hr, 80 bar, 525 deg cent:specifications and Multistage flahing desalination plants of 50 MIGD from 10 desalination lines. Also have thorough knowledge in 230 kv siemens SF6 switch gear and mv,lv switch gear experience with all protections & with dcs commissioning and operation experience in OM 650 (txp-siemens)

C) MADRAS ATOMIC POWER STATION: December 1983--1994
Kalpakkam, Madras, India.

Joined in Madras Atomic Power Station as Supervisor (operation) in dec.1983 and involved in commissioning and operation of 2X 235 Mw(e) steam turbine & its auxiliaries.

WORK KNOWLEDGE

A) SHUAIBAH INDEPENDENT WATER AND POWER PROJECT (SIEMENS)

Joined as as Shift Charge Engineer, and presently working as Operation Engineer reporting to the Operation Manager. Involved in the commissioning activity of 3 X 560.5 kg/s Ansaldo Caldaie boilers and 3x 400MW Siemens Power units & Doosan's desalination plant of capacity 882,000m3/day (12 lines)
Three steam generators are two pass type, natural circulation, drum type boilers designed and manufactured by Ansaldo Caldaie of capacity 560.5 kg/s, 158 bar, 514°c capable of firing crude oil at (BMCR )Boiler Maximum Continuous Rating while the ignition fuel is the light fuel oil. Each TG unit comprises a high pressure turbine of capacity 560.5 kg/s superheated steam flow, 150 bar, 510°c and intermediate turbine of 40 bar, 460°c with the H2 cooled generator of 497 MW capacity provided with the static excitation.
Involved in the commissioning & operation of DCS (txp-siemens)consisting the following operaion and monitoring system OM650, automation system AS620, engineering station ES680.
Emergency handling during station black out conditions by means of diesel generators and bringing units into island operation during any 380 kv grid problems.

B) SALINE WATER CONVERSION CORPORATION

As shift in charge reporting directly to senior power engineer and to coordinate with control room operators during start-up and to bring the desal and power units to rated capacity.

Maintaining the power generation and water production to the forecast level during the shift, safe shut down of power and desalination units and involving in any emergencies. To carry out the pre- start checks of start-up of units including the interlock checks.

Familiar with the 230 kv (sf6) siemens metal clad switch gear, process interlocks, d.c. control systems, rectifiers, batteries, invertors and uninterrupted ch/o of power supply. Familiar with the operational fault detection, trouble shooting and fault rectification for smooth operation of the plant.

Emergency handling during station black out conditions by means of diesel generators and bringing units into island operation during any 230 kv grid problems.

Thorough with the operation of 5 x 151 Mw turbine generators, hv and lv motors, switchgears and transformers. isolations and normalizations of all plant electrical equipments with safety and permitary tagging procedures. Issuing of permit to work for maintenance of outage equipments and for the equipments under preventive maintenance in accordance with safety. attending operations meeting to arrange for the isolation of major systems which may cause plant outage and involving in such isolation with the day shift engineer.

Fully involved in the commissioning & operation of DCS (txp-siemens)consisting the following operation and monitoring system OM650, automation system as620, engineering station es680 and bus system sinec h1, packscan for for valve controls, superimposed data high way for general monitoring by supervisors, shift-in-charge and by managers from their own locations.

Coordinating with pumping /bending station to provide uninterrupted water supply to the city. Coordinating with shift chemist for the proper maintenance of the potable water quality.

Coordinating with safety department for performing safety drills and conducting safety meetings etc. also have utilities experience as in compressors, fire water systems,H2,Co2, Cl2 plants and in cw pumps (200,000 t/hr)

Holding a valid Saudi Arabian driving licence.

Languages known: English, Malayalam, Tamil and Hindi.

C) MADRAS ATOMIC POWER STATION

Commissioning of 2 x 235 Mw TG and its auxiliaries, normal start-up, rolling of turbine, normal shut down of the plant, starting and stopping of heavy duty pumps like condenser cooling water pumps handling sea water of capacity 11,000 t/hr, boiler feed water pump handling feed water of capacity 1500 t/hr, rating 3.5 Mw and condensate extraction pump.

Maintaining condenser vacuum by means of hogger and service air ejector, monitoring the turbo generators parameters during normal operation, maintaining uninterrupted supply of lube oil to TG pedestal bearings, seal oil to H2 cooled generator and governing oil for hydrodynamic governing system.

Providing de mineralized water for generator stator conductors, maintaining chemically treated low pressure and high pressure process water supply to various heat exchangers.

Independent starting and synchronizing of 4x 1750 KW emergency diesel generator sets, checking the operation of motor generator sets, and automatic constant voltage rectifiers.
