EXPERIENCE
Sr. Staff Geophysicist August, 2002 – May, 2009
Chroma Oil & Gas, LP, Houston, TX.
Chroma E & P, Chroma Energy
Chroma Energy and Chroma E&P were small E & P companies with proprietary technology in pattern recognition and volume visualization. Chroma O&G was formed after a technology sale and a producing asset purchase. In my work at Chroma, I used seismic modeling, AVO studies, inversion, rock physics and rock properties studies and attribute analysis to give our interpreters a more quantitative approach to interpretation and prospect development. I utilized Hampson-Russell's software for inversion and AVO work, Seismic Micro Technology's Kingdom suite for interpretation and modeling, and ProMax seismic processing software as well as our own tools.

Chief Geophysicist February, 2000 - January, 2002
Core Lab, Houston, TX.
During my first year with Core Lab, I worked with TomoSeis ( now Z-Seis) applying my extensive surface seismic background to cross-well seismic. As Chief Geophysicist I oversaw the work of our consultants, directed the processing staff in applying more sophisticated methods, worked on field and processing experiments, and produced modeling studies for cross-well. The second year I spend most of my time with the Scott Pickford group working with seismic attributes, AVO analysis, rock physics and seismic data processing issues. Most of this work was done using Promax with some internal modules.

Chief Geophysicist June, 1995 - February, 2000
Western Geophysical, Houston, TX.
While Chief Geophysicist at Western, I spent much of my time on Time Lapse Seismic Monitoring and rock properties, in technology development and dissemination and in company and corporate strategy for reservoir monitoring. I also continued to be involved in data acquisition and processing activities. I served as the company's representative to several university consortia, including SRB and SCRF at Stanford University and RCP at Colorado School of Mines.
General Manager, Applied Technology March, 1989 - June, 1995
Western Geophysical, Houston, TX.
As General Manager of Applied Technology I was responsible for a staff of scientists, engineers and support personnel. The group was an R&D arm of Western Geophysical with working areas in land, marine and transition zone geophysics, reservoir geophysics, navigation, software development and mechanical engineering. Projects included streamer cable design and acoustics, 3D survey design software, GPS positioning, geostatistical software development, and ocean bottom cable testing.
Area Geophysicist, Far East & Australia, March, 1982 - March, 1989
Western Geophysical, Singapore

In Singapore, I was the chief technical staff member in the Asia-Pacific region with geophysical responsibilities for Western's activities throughout the area. As the main technical liaison to our clients I gave numerous seminars and authored papers on marine 3D acquisition and processing, transition zone seismic, airgun signatures and array design, and signature deconvolution. I was also involved in advanced and problem processing, inversion work, AVO analyses, modeling, 3D processing, and well log processing and integration.

Manager, Denver Basin April, 1980 - March, 1982
McAdams, Roux, O'Connor Associates, Denver, Co.

At MRO I was the manager of the Denver Basin exploration group, supervising two geologists, two geophysicists and support staff. I was responsible for the acquisition, processing, and interpretation of seismic data in the basin with the goal of producing drilling prospects. Remote sensing data was used as well as more conventional evaluation techniques. Extensive use was made of seismic modeling, synthetic seismograms, wavelet processing and inversion work. During my tenure at MRO I also planned and conducted VSP's, high resolution surveys and land 3D surveys for development work.

Senior Geophysicist August, 1974 - April, 1980
Shell Oil Company, Houston, TX.

Upon joining Shell I was assigned to the Offshore Division where I authored a paper on airgun array design. Later, I moved to the Rocky Mountain Division to be responsible for the data acquisition and processing of a "bright spot" play in the Sacramento/San Joaquin Basin. This included working closely with the geologist and geophysicist interpreting the play. Assignments followed in the Powder River, Albuquerque, Williston, and Great Basins, the Rocky Mountain Thrust Belts and the Snake River volcanic province. My responsibilities included experimental acquisition and processing techniques and following the results through the interpretation stage. In my last year at Shell I led a company research crew in experimental exploration programs in very difficult areas.
