Responsible for building a one to two vessel operation up to a centre with 13 vessels which now generates considerable revenue for BUE Marine; changing the safety culture of the personnel within the company completely resulting in the LTI rate reducing to nil for the past two years; introduction of a new company sea staff development training programme resulting in a faster reaction to client requirements, safer operation, tighter budget controls, Azerbaijan shore staff integration and improving future business prospects and a revamped budget review process that has seen the company profit exceed all expectations for the last two years.
Responsible for selection of staff to be trained in Europe and return as trainers for Fast rescue craft operations, lifting slinging and banks man courses.
Forming a close working relationship with the client we identified the need for constant appraisal of quality and number of safety inputs submitted per vessel. This clearly identified the weak areas in the operation. Results produced further training plans and implementation of further safety inputs leading to a safer operation.
Proactive during vessel visits and regular crew forums in identifying concerns of crews regarding vessel standards, procurements delays, near miss reports, stop card production.
Personally responsible for ensuring senior officers adhered to the requirement for reporting operational defects prior to entering and whilst inside the 500m zones.
Personally responsible for driving reporting standards to ensure crew working environment was maintained to company and crew satisfaction. This resulted in smoother operational performance and improved position in the client contractor safety matrix.
Responsible for attending client operational meetings daily and senior project meetings in preparation for jacket, topside and pile tow outs. To ensure vessels were suitably manned with qualified and experienced crews for the task. To ensure crews received and understood fully the techniques and procedures prior to task commencement. Responsible for ensuring maintenance days were requested and planning to ensure all effort was made to close out outstanding issues during the selected period.
Responsible for introduction of pre tow out plans on behalf of company with the client. This included 24 hour port stay to clean all coolers and ensure all vessels were in excellent working condition. This in affect was implemented by all contractors at no cost to the ship operator to ensure the operational preparedness was at the highest level.
Responsible for producing and implementing a presentation package for presentation at client quarterly performance review meetings. This included crew standards, safety input analysis, future improvement plans, high and low points during last quarter.

Required to manage a technical position on the joint venture management committee between BUE Marine and the Azerbaijan National Shipping Company Socar.This had to be managed with diplomacy, tact and integrity.
