Yansab Polyethylene plant. Review of design documentation and implementation of field and logic changes required to control systems, with particular emphasis on the vent gas recovery system including the MAN supplied gas recovery compressor, and resolution of punch list and logic problems with concerned systems.

2008 – 2009 LOCATION: SAUDI ARABIA–SHAW, STONE & WEBSTER
(Feb) POSITION: I&E PROJECT MANAGER – Ethylene Plant
Sharq Ethylene plant, phase 3 expansion. Monitor and coordination of work in progress and assuring that the work meets the requirements of the plans and specifications and good work practice standards. Reporting directly to the Construction Director. Responsible for ensuring contractor complies with Safety and Quality in instrumentation construction areas. Review of manpower requirements, and of scheduling of work to be performed and review work accomplished by each craft. Monitoring the activities of subcontractors to ensure compliance with specifications and schedules. Working with the Quality Control Manager and Turnover Coordinator to verify document compliance for Startup and verification of construction punch listed items. Review project Planning.

2007 – 2007 LOCATION: BAHRAIAN / SAUDI ARABIA–PARSONS BRINCKERHOFF
(Dec) POSITION: PROJECT MANAGER / CO ORDINATOR
Feasibility study for the construction of a centralized utilities complex for Jubail Industrial City 2, this involved calculation of steam, compressed air, oxygen, nitrogen, demineralised water and cooling water requirements for export to outside plants as well as utilities complex requirements, calculations of CAPEX and OPEX, finalized by calculations of utilities tariffs. Contract completed December 2007.

2000 – 2007 LOCATION: BAHRAIAN BRANCH OFFICE–BABCOCK BORSIG SERVICE
(Aug) POSITION: SENOIR PROJECT MANAGER / BRANCH MANAGER Bahrain
Initially based in Bahrain to open the branch office to handle the Sitra Power and Water Station Phase 1 refurbishment project as part of Contractor Consortium, involving the refurbishment of 2 MSF distillers, 4 Franco Tossi steam turbine generators and 4 Wagner Biro steam generators. The refurbishment consisted of mechanical refurbishment and replacement, electrical and instrument systems replacement with new DCS and switchgear (ABB), including new steam purity analyzers, new field instruments and valve refurbishment. Liaising with clients engineer and Turnover Coordinator to verify document compliance for Start-up. Conducting all consortium and management meetings.
Further duties include business development in Bahrain, liaising with Chamber of Commerce, & Ministry of Labour as well as the Ministry of Electricity and Water. Further responsibilities includes preparation of conceptual scope of work for projects in close liaison with Clients and Consultants. Prepare initial scope of work as required for negotiations with consultants and clients. Finalise scope of work with input from consultants and negotiate contractual & financial elements. Review project documentation. Engage in pre-qualification of contractors. Supervision of engineering contractor for all engineering design deliverables for civil/structural, controls and instrumentation, electrical, piping, process/systems and safety engineering. Management of engineering contractor to maintain schedule and cost targets. Providing necessary reporting to management on project status and contractor performance. Responsible for project risk assessment and claims avoidance including extra works and variation orders negative & positive. Responsible for financial and technical success of the projects under own direct control, direction of projects to execution through subordinate Project Managers.

1999- 2000 LOCATION: RAS GAS QATAR - IPEDEX
POSITION: PROJECT MANAGER
Based at Ras Laffan Plant, as project manager of the maintenance training team. Co-ordination of courses for instruction of local trainees in maintenance of instrumentation, electrical, mechanical and operations. Tracking and control of project budget and reporting on trainee progress. Responsible for delivery of new curriculum as well as planning and defining scope of work for trainees and preparing and executing daily, weekly, monthly, and annual maintenance routines, forward planning with team of supervisors and engineers.

1996- 1999 LOCATION: ADMA-OPCO ABU DHABI - IPEDEX

Based at Adma office in Abu Dhabi as Senior Control Engineer for Zakum field as part of the maintenance strategy team implementing Passport system for maintenance planning, tracking and cost control center and responsible for writing new work standards as well as planning and defining scope of work and redefining disipline certification standards. Engineering changes to existing Maintenance Procedures, Implementation of new Procedures, and advise on alternative maintenance techniques.

1995- 1996 LOCATION: QATARGAS LQ / UTILITIES PLATFORM – QATARGAS / IPEDEX
POSITION: INSTRUMENT & ELECTRICAL COMMISSIONING MANAGER
Initially based at McDermott's yard in Jebil Ali with overall responsibility to ensure quality installation, inspection and review commissioning procedures of all instrument and electrical systems. Continued in the same position offshore Qatar with overall responsibility for reviewing the RFC and OTP documentation and ensuring timely progress in commissioning of all platform systems with particular emphasis on Fire and Gas system. Function testing and inspection of the control and fire & gas systems.

1995-1995 LOCATION: JUDY / JOANNE PLATFORM - PHILLIPS / GROOTCON
POSITION: SENIOR INSTRUMENT ENGINEER / MANAGER
Supervision of Instrument personnel carrying out hook-up scope for all gas platform systems. Completion of certification, raising of work permits, inspection and testing of systems with clients inspection engineers, completion of daily reports with "Look Ahead" planning. Responsible for implementation of job cards in conjunction with programmed scope, along with daily reports and weekly look aheads.

1994-1995 LOCATION: MORECAMBE FLAME CONVERSION – BHP / IPEDEX.
POSITION: FIRE & GAS / TELECOMMS PROJECT ENGINEER.
Conversion of jack-up driller to accommodation & utilities platform at Port Glasgow yard for the Douglas Field. Responsible for implementing & compiling I.T.R. status indices, setting out work scopes and issuing same to construction supervisors. Overall responsibility to ensure mechanical completion & certification of Fire & Gas Systems & Telecommunications including documenting of handover dossiers.

1993-1994 LOCATION: DUNBAR PLATFORM - TOTAL / MacGREGOR.
POSITION: INSTRUMENT ENGINEERING MANAGER
Responsible for the commissioning and operational tests of the platform HVAC systems at Clydebank module yard. Completion of sub system test records and inspection to client standards and proving systems to certifying authority. Continued in the same position with the same duties during the offshore phase of the project, including on job training of operations personnel.

1993 LOCATION: SALTIRE PLATFORM - ELF / MacGREGOR
POSITION: PROJECT MANAGER
Responsible for carrying out re-design appraisals and material take offs in conjunction with planning activities by liaising with operations department and compiling daily reports. Approval of field change orders for alternative construction methods where necessary and ensuring good progress of work scope by deployed labour. Attended daily meetings with the Completions Manager, Senior Engineers and Contractors, and compiled weekly progress, manpower and safety reports.

1990-1992 LOCATION: MILLER PLATFORM – BP / MacGREGOR
POSITION: PROJECT MANAGER
Initially based at Nigg Bay module yard as Instrument Commissioning Engineer. Responsibilities included setting up of field commissioning office, compiling work packages and setting out commissioning program, comparing and correcting client task management system against contractors systems tracking report, allocating to field supervisors job packs by priority and scrutinising inspectors field reports on job pack completion. Attending all meetings between client and contractor, supervision of all operational tests on Fire and Gas, HVAC and ESD systems. Then continued offshore as specialist Fire and Gas Engineer with the overall responsibility to ensure the timely progress of the Fire and Gas system, again by controlling job pack allocation to foremen and overseeing all operational tests and raising all relevant documentation including, writing curriculum for training of offshore operations personnel in use and maintenance of Fire and Gas system. Attending project meetings and liasing with Lloyds inspectors.

1987-1990 LOCATION: AL-HASA TRAINING CENTRE SAUDI ARABIA- ARAMCO
POSITION: INSTRUMENT INSTRUCTOR
On job assessment of trainee Instrument technicians carrying out preventative and remedial maintenance on remote oil and gas plants, assessing trainees knowledge of testing and calibration of instrument control systems, including cascade, ratio and advanced control loops, vibration monitoring, DCS, ESD and Fire and Gas systems.

1987 LOCATION: EKOFISK PLATFORM - PHILLIPS / COMSIP
POSITION: COMMISSIONING ENGINEER / AREA TEAM LEADER
Initially based in Paris and Lyon to assess PLC control and monitoring automats and to vet PLC parameters, being used to jack up the field complex offshore. During offshore phase of the project responsible for ensuring by inspection of all field and local control cabins commissioned to specification and certified accordingly.
