1994 – till date:
Senior Production Chemist in a multinational Oil Company based in UAE. It is at an Offshore facility on an 28 days on/28 days off rotation.
Job Responsibility: Quality Control laboratory which involves in testing of crude oil, produced water, produced gas, potable water & Scales using ASTM, API, APHA methods.
Injection Water Quality checks for Particle count (Coulter Counter), Dissolved oxygen (Orbisphere meter), Free Chlorine, Corrosion readings, Chemical injections, SRB testing, of the Water flooding process.
Crude Oil analysis involves Cargo transfer tests like Moisture content (Karl Fischer Coulometric titrator), API density, Salt content & Sulphur (Chemiluminesence). Produced water analysis for Ions (Ionic Chromatograph) & Squeeze residuals (Phosphonates using Flow Injection & Spectrophotometer). Also analysis of overboard water for oil & grease using EPA method of extraction & Florescence analysis.
Gas analysis using Gas Chromatograph & online Gas Chromatograph, Hydrogen Sulphide with Draeger tubes & Tutweiler.
Potable water for Chemical & Bacteriological tests.
Scale analysis of deposits from well heads/tubing, process vessels etc. using wet chemistry methods. Also involved in Field corrosivity tests using HACH kits, Dew point tester, portable CO2 tester & Dragër apparatus.
For the above jobs, involves from sampling, analysis, reporting, procuring chemicals, laboratory supplies.
Periodic calibration / maintenance of instruments. Also involves in updating procedures, calibration data & other documents for ISO auditing.

Involved in Scale Management Program for around 250 wells by updating Data bases, short listing wells for Scale Squeeze & report to the Production Engineers.
1991 – 1994:
As Chemist with Bunduq Company Limited, Abu Dhabi, at their offshore Laboratory.
Job responsibilities included Oil / Gas/ produced water / Scale analysis of samples from all over the field.
ASTM, API, UOP, APHA methods were used it test samples using Gas Chromatograph, Spectrophotometer, wet chemistry. Also performed onsite sampling & analysis during pigging etc.
1984 – 1986:
Worked a Chlorination Technician at Regional Development Company, Government of Oman.
Job responsibilities were to analyze water quality for potablity and maintain level of Chlorine at optimum levels.
1979 – 1984:
As Chemist with Ion Exchange India, at their quality control Laboratory.
Job responsibilities included analysis of resins (finished product ), intermediates and incoming raw chemicals ( monomers etc ).
Analysis of Effluent water and samples for technical services group, from all over India.
Gas Chromatograph, Spectrophotometer, wet chemistry.
